So yeah, on of the students stole one of the schools pets. opon discovery of the pet's absence, they put the school under lockdown, searching every room for suspects. They adventuly found the student and arrested him. It was a shame because he's a pretty good kid. But what was this pet you ask? A tarantula. me and my friends were make jokes about if it had bit him and then started swelling up if was allergic. Then he really wouldn't have went far.
Pets don't belong in schools for stupid reasons like this. And a lockdown? Really? Over a spider. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
The only time we had a lockdown when I was in school was when one student shot another student. Going into lockdown over a missing spider is ridiculous.
If the tarantula is particularly venomous, it is not out of the question to lock down the school. It could be a hazard to children and teachers, and the tarantula itself could also be harmed.
Tarantulas are very good pets. somebody owned this pet and loved it enough to bring to school to show his or her friends. maybe also to freak them out. but whatever. somebody took somebody else's friend. they probably locked the place down to make sure the person couldn't leave and take it home and/or kill it. the person was probably very upset and the faculty decided to take action. I commend them for caring enough to do that, even though it was a spider. I think thats a good life lesson right there.
I'm pretty sure that wouldn't be allowed in the first place if it was a type that actually is dangerous to humans. At least, one would think... If you don't bring them in the first place, you wouldn't put them in that danger nor cause a completely avoidable problem. Regardless of the intention, they do not belong there...Be a petowner, not a showoff. Show your friends outside of school. And this seems to be a class pet, not someone's personal pet, unless they donated it, which I have problems with in itself. It's not fair to the animal, class pets are almost always not well cared for and students typically harass and annoy them. I remember we had hamsters in my class when I was in HS. Kids would fill the bottle with hot water or tape the nozzle, poke them with pencils among other cruel things. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
Those are very good points. You have swayed my thoughts on this subject. The Spider should not have been there in the first place.
We had a bunch of mice in my school, someone was carrying them somewhere I guess and dropped them, so they scattered everywhere when the halls were full of students. And most them them got stomped on. Some probably unintentionally, but some were done in on purpose. I didn't much like my HS...
don't feel too bad. I'm pretty sure it was being used as an experiment. - - Auto Merge - - We have a snake that's two years away from being considered exotic and too dangerous to be in a class room without an extending permit. The teacher actually trust the students to respect the animals and not want to be eaten. - - Auto Merge - - :gasp: THAT'S SO CRUEL! just evil.
