I made an Iron Maiden reference that my neighbors didn't get and it makes me sad. Our bailiff said we'd be referred to as a number during our time here, and I responded with a mumbled "I'm not a number. I'm a free man."

Well poop. I got picked to be on the jury. Here's hoping it'll be quick.

Yami, if you want to get out of this, just remember the immortal advice of Homer Simpson and claim that you are prejudiced against all races.

 

Oops. I read a few lines of that before I remembered they said not to do any outside research about the law or case. That probably doesn't apply to this, though, but best be safe.

Defendant is same race as me, so that would be kinda irrelevant. Unless I'm like a white Uncle Ruckus.

That said, I've already been selected, so there's no way out of it other than to see it through to its completion.

I'd like to give you my sympathies, but the truth of the matter is that I've only ever been called in for jury duty once since I turned 18, and even then, I was told my services would no longer be needed without ever having to show up to the courthouse. Hopefully your case is one of petty theft or something else that's pretty easily resolved...and not some grisly murder. :ahh:

 

I caused a murder once with home made machines. I wasn't allowed redstone pistons after that.

 

I will say that my judge's name, John Doran, is one letter away from being fully awesome.

 

I love how the jury system lets you just text the entire situation and the judge's name... There is no way you happen to be sending the info to someone not so good. Yay stupid court system!

 

Guess I'll just say this: my relationship is over. It's been a rough few days, but in the end, I know it was for the better. He couldn't handle the way I acted when I was depressed and ran away from me. I don't need that, and both he and I deserves someone better.
