First off, I want to direct you to this post: Secondly, Prince Darkmoon, I just realized something about that "Love your neighbor as yourself" bit. A lot of people are kind of hateful towards themselves, but they try to be good people to others anyway. It's like if everyone acted towards others the way they feel about themselves, it would be really helpful to realize what people need some help getting through life. Also, I think I've said it before, but people who are hateful for no reason should have to register with their community sheriff as a certified bigot. I'm not saying it's as bad as someone who is a sex offender, but along the same level as people who are legally blind or like how you'll see street signs to indicate there's a deaf child in the neighborhood. Some sort of indication that you need to be careful around these people.
Oh, I knew you were joking. I was just speaking in general. I personally don't live by the writings of a primitive book that is outdated by 2,000+ years.
I cannot say that I have any transgendered friends, I do however have friends that are gay and I can say that I fully support them and the decisions that they make in life. So if I did have any friends who were trans then I would probably treat them like I do anyone else.
Plus it wasn't even written by "God", it was written by a man claiming to know Gods will, it could have been changed to his own ideals.
True story: One of my friends is trans (MTF), and I didn't even know for, like, a year. She got a huge kick out of it when I found out. They're people. If nobody makes a deal out of it, they're exactly the same as anyone else. Treating them differently really makes no sense. This is good news. At the other brony forum I used to frequent, bigots are not only welcome, but actively defended by every level of the staff.
I am a trans female (M2F). I came out and so far found more acceptance than I thought. Was in a few relationships with ciswomen that had no problem with me being a transwoman and even referring me as their 'girlfriend' and accepting that it is technically a 'lesbian' relationship. (One ex is hetero and the other is bisexual) I associate myself as a lesbian even though I still appear as a straight man. I haven't done any transitioning though. Just told people I am a transgender (like most family & friends) and chose the name "Lauren" as my name. I have kind of a thought of what I want to look like as a woman. And if anypony wonders, I am keeping my unit down there. >.> But some people were prejudice but I experienced better acceptance than others sadly, cause I hate others have to have it bad just cause we know our body parts ain't right.
If it's any condolences, I accept you fully! =D Your name is pretty! I was originally going with Jamie, but am now going by Sarah, =P
Thank you. Things are going nice. Still for the most part I get acceptance, still occasional transphobics every now and then.
Love a world more like that, bronies are more prone to have that concept than average members, cause of love & tolerance and since most of my acceptance and positive opinions came from the brony & otaku communities. Some still will have prejudice on things like LGBT, race, sex, country, beliefs and stuff. Some were not as accepting, but like 5% to 10% percent and more L&T than general population. Plus have met a few more from other brony groups as well as elsewhere on the LGBT spectrum (one stereotype of us being mostly gay, although it seems the percentage is higher than general population, still at least 60% is classified as hetero or straight.)
And not everyone who has a religion is a fundementalist. OT: The struggle of the Trans person is a tough one. I have two close friends who are mtf. I find it disheartening when people in the LGBT Community look at the Transgender part of the community like how people saw Bisexuality in the "Gay 90's" As a person who identifies as a person who identifies as GenderQueer I can understand you're strife. I find the best way to encourage tolerance is to educate others who are willing to listen. Like i always say "Knowledge cures ignorance. If you are in the know, be f**king contagious."
You can't blame a book of fables for the idiots who use it to push there own agenda. It's like saying because there are stupid people in the fandom the fandom is a cesspool of trolls and perverts.
You should reread our last religion conversation. You may not intentionally say it but you do say it.
