I think people take feminism out of control. Like, everyone. The feminists, the anti-feminists, and everyone in between. I don't think gender inequality needs to be a problem in the first place

Like it or not, it is a problem. Although I simply choose to completely ignore feminism (and the related nonsense) because I'm not afflicted by the problem, not contributing to the problem, and have entirely no sway over the problem. My action would garner no results and have no supporting reasoning behind it. Not to say others shouldn't, especially if they have reason or power.

Life is simple when you choose to make life simple.

It shouldn't be. But ignoring it doesn't make it go away.

I've probably already posted here but I just wanted to say:

Personally, I am unable to call myself a feminist. I am 100 percent for equal rights for ALL people, but a lot of feminists, not even the radical ones, seem to think that women's rights issues is more of a priority than men's rights issues. Which is obviously not equal, therefor I can't side with it. Neither am I an MRA; I am simply an Equalist. (Not in a A:LoK kind of way =P )

And to be completely honest the feminist community ruins it for me. I know that is a silly reason to dislike something, but it's not my only reason. If I agreed with the teachings but hated the community I'd be a Feminist regardless. But I don't, so I'm not.

People seem to think that in order to believe in equality for both genders, you HAVE to be a Feminist. No leniency here. Well those people are wrong, because obviously you can disagree with certain aspects of a philosophy but still like the general message. I LIKE equality, but I hate Feminism.

    That is all, :derpe:

Equal pay for equal work, and the USA needs to start the whole 'being cool with the concept of maternity leave' thing like the rest of the first world. That's about it, I guess. Oh, and every woman has the right to contraceptives. There.

Look.. I am happy that gals can get jobs and such, and they deserve basic American liberties as well... But it seems like the extreme feminists may be bashing the men now.. Showing sexist portrayals of them like men might have done to some, not all girls back in the fifties and sixties. To me, the tide of sexism may have just simply turned to the other gender instead of being abolished.

The necessity and premise of this topic is exactly why I choose not to involve myself in this subject; it's a self propagating cycle of finger-pointing, name-calling and blame-delegation. Both sides have valid points, but because of the extremes associated with each side, nothing gets resolved because at all times there is at least one person who is unhappy with what they believe the other side stands for (which often enough is neither correct nor accurate).

I think both sides are a bunch of complete wankers and need to shut up.

Humans also need to get their head out of the dirt and realize that it isn't friggin' 10,000 B.C anymore.

In regards to gender I hold women at a higher rank. I'm sick of men and there idiotic tendencies (no offense, I like you guys). I'd hate myself if it wasn't for me being so open minded. I guess it's the close minded men I can't stand to be around. I'm not feminist or anything, equal rights for everypony, but I hold women in higher regards than men (in general).

As far as radicals go, I can't stand them no matter what group they're originating from. There's always that one person who'll take things to the extreme for no good reason. Bronies have radicals, the ones who make every second of every minute of every hour of every day about ponies. Everything has radicals. If you can't do what you do and be chill about it then why do it in the first place?

@Nights actually touched on a neat comparison I would like to continue.

For those of you who say you don't like Feminists because they hate men... You should know that only the small (if obnoxiously loud) minority of them actually think badly of men. They're the outliers. If you have ever seen an article about Bronies and thought, "Wow, I'm not like that at all. Not all people who watch Friendship is Magic are freaky or weird!" If you have, then you should know what I'm talking about. Not all Feminists hate men. The crazy ones get more attention, just like the crazy Bronies.

You make a couple of good points, but I'd just like to say that women are equally as stupid/ignorant as men.

    ...and equally as intelligent.

I'm content with hating both sexes equally.

That is discriminatory, because it arbitrarily imposes a gender binary (both entails exactly two). Instead, I choose to literally hate everyone, with a modifier inversely proportional to how well I know them, and a second modifier geometrically proportional to how much they annoy me.

Technically speaking, there's more than two of those as well.

The male sex is genetically defined by an X and a Y chromosome, where as the female sex is defined by 2 X chromosomes. Occasionally, you end up with other combinations. Wikipedia will give you better insight than I can.

^And this kind of crap is exactly why I hesitated to make myself a tumblr. It would be fine if this self-righteous nonsense was self-contained, but it was actually promoted by tumblr staff as part of women's history month.

Yeah...tumblr staff? If you're going to promote feminism, you might not want to promote the b****y, 'minority opinion' side of feminism.

As a person who grew up listening to Bikini Kill, Poison Girls and Resist And Exist. Women's Rights is an issue that is worth talking about. The person who beleves sexism, racism or homophobia is no longer a thing in this world i would kindly point them to the sex crimes within our police force and military as proof that when you treat women as a second class anything that is associated as being female is demonized. That being said there are people like my mother who uses it as a guise to promote hatred. Those people i don't call feminist i don't call them human rights activists. I call them the reason why we have the word feminist tabooed in society. Just like the Tea Party who bastardized the word libertarian.
