It's been five years since the pony tribes unified and founded Equestria, and things are not going as well as the leaders had hoped. Generations of mistrust cannot be undone overnight, after all. In an effort to show that the races are stronger together than they could ever be apart, the new nation's leaders ask for volunteers, ponies of different races and backgrounds, to carry out an ambitious and dangerous experiment. Working together, these ponies will tame the dangerous lands near the Everfree Forest, and in so doing, show everypony in Equestria just what can be accomplished when prejudices are set aside. It won't be easy. The forest is filled with dangerous creatures, and the weather is not completely under control. Only the strongest, smartest, and bravest ponies will be able to build new lives in the new land. This RP will be Slice of Life, with occasional PVE elements. Name: Amber Fritter Race: Earth Pony Gender: Female Age: Early 20’s Appearance: Light yellow, orange-ish mane, blue eyes Talent: Seemingly a natural as a farmer, can seemingly grow and cook anything. Current Job: Farmer & Chef Old Country Job: Farmer, worked alongside family Reasons for Volunteering: Wanted to start a new life after her old one was filled with pain, chances to make new friends and explore the world. Biography: Amber was unfortunate enough to lose both of her parents in her teens. Her father leaving one morning to search for firewood and seemingly never returning and her mother to an illness. Since then, she had been left alone isolated. Despite this rough upbringing, she is extraordinarily kind to others in need. Feeling that she needed to start anew, she left her old life and volunteered for the trip.

Biography: Armoured Steel has always only had his dad. His mother died during birth. His family has left a legacy of great warriors, including his father. He went through rough training throughout his entire life to prepare him for becoming a warrior as well. He was also raised to hate Earth Ponies and Unicorns and still doesn't like them even after the unification. He never really liked fighting but it turns out that was apart of his special talent. He refused to join the army and due to that his father disowned him. About a month ago his father came down with a sickness that no one understands and keeps getting worse. Armoured Steel wants to do something to let his father rest easy knowing that his only son was able to live up to the family name.

Biography: Abandoned at Birth, she was taking in by the most prominent Merchant Family in Pre-Equestria. She would steal things for her adopted relatives to sell. She gave up her life of thieving after the blizzard, and instead became an Traveling Merchant with the customer's interest in mind.

Talent: he is a blank flank, however is a strong flyer and great at fighting Current Job: Supply Guard (Guarding resources.) Old Country Job: Unemployed Reasons for Volunteering: Simple, he wants to travel around the land and discover places nopony has discovered before. Biography: At birth Dark Blitz had defect that will remain for life, his rather somewhat large wingspan. As he grew up he was bullied because he was the only Pegasus that didn't have a cutie mark, and lets not forget the somewhat larger than normal wings, the wings were only 12 cm larger than others growing up. His mother had died due to a heart attack, and his father would spend all of the money or sell almost everything for cider, he would also beat Dark Blitz. Few years had passed and he was 15, his father died due to choking on a piece of carrot, but Blitz didn't care at all, the only thing that mattered was taking care of his little sister Dark Shine. At age 20, he volunteered to be the guard for the supplies of the Pegasus, or what was left of the supply. He now takes care of his sister, trying his best to get food and what ever they needed to survive.

Biography: Before the blizzard, Nova was a scout for the Pegasi, and showed a remarkable survival instinct in even the most inhospitable of environments. After the blizzard, when the Pegasi relocated to Equestria and disbanded their armies, she was forced to survive by taking a long series of dangerous odd jobs. One such job led to her meeting Static, an outcast Dragon with whom she shared a strong bond. After some time adventuring together, the pair grew closer and eventually fell in love. A little over a year before the call came for volunteers, Nova gave birth to a half-Dragon colt, which caused her priorities to shift drastically. Wandering the land and struggling to survive, he eventually met an old Buffalo that took him in, gave him a new name, and taught him to work with silver. Having opposable thumbs turned out to be quite advantageous to his chosen trade, and he quickly mastered the craft. When his teacher died, Static started wandering again, searching for new and exotic materials to work into his creations. Biography: Born during an aggressive blizzard, Jeremiah was born out of wed-lock to a young pony, Mary Jane. He spent much of his time helping his mother on their small farm. Eventually, when Jeremiah was 16 years old, his mother died of tuberculosis. He made his mother's own grave and buried her himself, being that they did not really know of anyone in the woods their farm was secluded in. He spent his days working in the graveyard he buried his mother in. He spent his life in solitude, but decided to come out of the shadows in hopes of a better life.
[MENTION=7990]Scarecrow[/MENTION] - The RP takes place five years after the founding of Equestria, which places it well over a thousand years before the events of the first episode. Gas masks are way too technologically advanced for the time period. Also, some kind of background is needed, as the volunteers were chosen by Equestria's rulers, and a pony that refuses to reveal their past would not be trusted for something so important.

Dark characters are fun, but for an RP that requires a great deal of interpersonal interaction between the characters, a mysterious loner might be slightly out of place. Still, if you've got another character, or just want to tweak this one a bit, I'd love to have you join. The more, the merrier.

Read through what's already been posted to get an understanding of the story so far, then introduce your character into the story however you wish. It might be easiest to say that he was was supposed to be part of the group from the start, but was running late. It's up to you, though.
