This year, it's time for the OTHER team of funny teenage anthromorphic animals to finally come back to the big screen! [video=youtube;nCjsWpM9zFU]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCjsWpM9zFU[/video] So, here are my thoughts: 1-First, the canister of Mutagen looks just like the one from the 90s movie, I love that. 2-The canister says "TCRI", and not "TGRI". TCRI, Techno Cosmic Research Institute. So, it's clear that April's father and Shredder worked together with the Utroms without even realizing that they WERE working with alien beings. 3-I like the fact that Shredder is gonna use the Mutagen to create his own army of mutants, that kind of thing is a constant for the character. 4-No, the fact that Shredder is white doesn't bother me. Shredder was an alien being, a demon, and a computer virus infecting his suit of armor, so as long as he is the Shredder, him not being Asian doesn't really affect me. 5-April being a brunette with darker skin doesn't affect me either, since that's the way she was in the original Mirage Comics. I know the image of April as a white redhead is widespread across the franchise now, but it pleases me that for once we are seeing April as originally envioned by Peter Laird. 6-Megan Fox doesn't bother me that much. This is a Bay/Liebesman movie, so it's not like you can make the lines that those two hacks feed you sound convincing after all. Still, she's decent when you compare her with someone like Kristen Stewart or Natasshia Malthe, so I give her a pass. 7-Given that the Foot Clan seems to be more of a terrorist organization than a ninja clan, and that Shredder is now a white guy named Eric Sacks, it makes me wonder how are they gonna fit Karai in this movie. 8-Same thing for Splinter. Is the Hamato Yoshi character gonna be in this movie at all? Is Splinter gonna be a regular rat that just mutates into Splinter, is Splinter gonna be a human TCRI scientist who mutates into Splinter? 9-Also, it would have been nice to see Baxter Stockman, Irma and Vernon in this trailer. 10-The design of the Turtles doesn't bother me, I actually think they look pretty nice. In fact, they look like how I picture the 2003 Turtles to look like if they were transformed into live action characters. I also like the influence from the "Out of the Shadows" videogame in the design. 11-Their size doesn't bother me either. In both the 90s movies and the 2003 cartoon, the Mutagen makes you grow large and muscular, so why shouldn't that be the same for the Turtles? 12-I like the fact that April's father was a (human) scientist working for TCRI because it leads to April becoming the great scientist she was in the 2003 cartoon, which is something I enjoy far more than her JUST being a reporter and/or a damsel in distress. TCRI is also the name the fake research group set up by the Kraang in the 2012 Nickelodeon reboot, and considering that this is a Nickelodeon movie, I'm going to guess that we won't be seeing a return of Ch'rell and the Utroms. Also, you forget to mention that Karai and Raphael were also the Shredder. Personally, I'm sort of put off by how the Turtles look, but not enough to make me not want to see the movie. I'm more concerned that, considering that this is a Micheal Bay movie, the titular characters will be forced to take a backseat to some ridiculous April O'Neil storyline. Lastly, WHERE THE HELL IS CASEY JONES?!
I like it and I'm looking forward to it. Except one big thing is ticking me off. It may sound stupid but... April O'Neil is a REDHEAD! why didn't they dye Megan Fox's hair!? Its not a big thing to ask an actress to do for a job where she's getting paid millions of dollars! If I got paid that much I'd shave all the hair from my body and wear all my clother inside out, including underware on the outside!
When I heard that they were planning on a more realistic look for the Turtles, I was expecting this: Instead, we got... that.

I'm upset. Rant rant rant. This movie's gonna blow. Yadda yadda. *goes back to watch the original film* Ahhh.... No one can top that. No. One. I bet there won't even be any skateboarding in this one, grumble grumble.
An important fact to remember is that in TMNT canon, there are hundreds of alternate versions of the Turtles. Nickelodeon has made it very clear that their 2012 series version of the Turtles is AU, not retcon. I'm guessing that the same will be true of this movie.
He/she still has a right to complain. This is an adaptation, and almost all adaptations are "AU". That doesn't mean it makes it acceptable to completely deviate from the source material. Movies like "Batman and Robin", "Dragonball Evolution" and "John Carter" are also "AU", yet people stil have a right to criticize them. If criticizing "AU" movies is somehow wrong, then you are unable to criticize pretty much 90% of movies in existance. Even movies like the 30s version of "Dracula" and "Frankenstein" are "AU". So, if blind2d wants to say something negative about this movie, or complain that this movie is not faithful to the source material, then he/she is in his/her right to do so.
You misunderstood me. I was not saying that people don't have the right to complain about a bad movie being bad, I was simply saying that in this particular case, every single AU scenario is canon to the TMNT universe. Alternate universes with drastically different stories are simply part of the franchise.
I actually don't mind that look for April. But the turtles... those character designs really need some getting used to. Like, a lot. Great, now I can't unsee that.
My biggest problem with the character design is that the Turtles have lips. Turtles, even anthropomorphic turtles, should not have lips. We're entering Uncanny Valley here, people.
I honestly don't like Megan Fox playing as April. I mean yes, she's an Alright actor. But it just does not feel right. The role should have gone to someone else
The turtles look like green old men. I wish they didn't try to go for the REALISTIC REALISTIC approach, but I guess things are getting more advanced. xD - - Auto Merge - - Megan Fox is pure sex appeal in the movie business. I'm sure that's the only reason people want to watch it as well. BRING ON THE CLEAVAGE!
She IS a reporter in this movie, the fact just wasn't conveyed well in the trailer. She will even have Vernon and Irma at her side.
