Recently there's been a big movement about being fat and owning it, but I take issue with the people who say, "I'm fat." No, you're not. You have body fat, but regardless of how much of it you have that body fat is only one trait and does not summarize you as a person. It need not define you. Saying "I'm fat" sounds to me like saying "I'm nothing more than my body fat" which, if you want to be nothing more than a pile of fat, that's your deal. I, however, take issue with it when people say things without really considering how they word them. But yeah, health risks are also important to consider.
That's a very good point you make there, but there's also a difference between having a little extra body fat, (chubby) and being morbidly obese.
It's not often I feel the need to release the beast, but it looks like the time has come to finally use this thread. As much as I love being a home bird, it's becoming increasingly frustrating feeling the need to be something I'm not. I'm getting so very tired of dressing and looking like an Average Joe, but living in a town I love also comes with the burden of being too afraid to be who you want to be. While I do get on with so many people to different degrees, the majority are too afraid to be unique and seem to feel like they have to conform to what they are told is normal. Me and fitting in works as smoothly as fitting a square peg in a round hole. My 'inner-goth' as I have to come to call it, has been yearning to surface for a long, long time, but unfortunately I just can't break away from feeling like I'm living somewhere where truly wanting to be yourself feels like a bad thing. The apparent lack of a 'goth scene' here also doesn't help and if there is one, it's well hidden. I don't know, I'm 20 now and feel like the boat has passed to truly embrace who I am and want to be. But then again I think that's just a thought brought on by overthinking. *Sigh* To be on the surface what you are on the inside must be great... hopefully I can fix that some day.

This recent development in Ukraine where Jews were given leaflets telling them that they have to register their names, property, and vehicles really has me worried. I still don't know who was giving those leaflets out and if they're even legitimate, but it's still worrying.

Yes, but these jackasses are part of a people who have a long, proud history of hating and killing Jews. No one seems to remember the pogroms anymore. The horrors of WWII superseded them in everyone's minds. Russians and Ukrainians hate and despise Jews, and I fear that this is the beginning of something awful. Jews have been killed for no reason at all in the past; these nationalists or separatists - they're all the same to me - won't need a reason either.
I feel like the UN should have been on Putin for the Crimea thing. I don't know how he got away scot free on that.

I just punched an eight foot fence post until came loose, ripped it it out of the ground, threw it, and put it back in the ground upside down. My knuckles are bruised and bleeding, there are dozens of splinters embedded in my hand, and I may or may not have cracked a bone in my middle finger. I had hoped that the activity described above would allow me to vent some anger, and I did indeed feel calmer for about five minutes. However, the source of my anger is still in close proximity, and any relief that I felt is now long gone. If things continue as they are, I may be forced to take drastic measures to ensure my own peace of mind.
At least there more reliable than fox news and that lot. seeing as they dont lean towards any political party unlike most american news agencies. The more I hang around this other pony forum, the more and more I realize that...I just hate a lot of people there. Like, as people, they're just the most thoroughly unpleasant bunch you'll ever meet. But the way they conduct themselves there, they're painfully fake. See, I may be a complete jackass, but at least I don't try to deceive people into thinking otherwise. That said, the blunt, deadpan personalities of a lot of you folks here is strangely refreshing.
