Thats the thing, some people aren't capable of fighting back. Be it because of the bullies outnumbering them or being weaker than the bullies. Also sometimes people who get severely bullied gain serious anxiety (like myself) making it impossible to face the problem let alone fight back. Society needs to improve its stance on anti-bullying and helping deal with the problem. Instead of telling people to just man up and fight or just ignore it.
If they're bigger and stronger than you, get an equalizer. If they throw a punch, you throw a brick. Anti-bullying campaigns may help now, but about when kids graduate and get out into the real world? If they didn't learn to fight back in school, what are they going to do when the safety net of rules and ever-present authority figures is removed?
Ugh, I hate that. Even worse when they lick it after they've already been handling some money, because there're actually quite a few fecal particles on the average dollar bill. :X
Fake, fake people. The ones that say that they're nice, tolerant, accepting, and progressive, yet they're very exclusionary and act like total snobs.
When you save the rest of your dinner for later, and some ****head goes and eats it. It's very upsetting.
GameFAQs in general is absolutely terrible. It's the sort of place where people either rate games 10/10 "best game evar" or 1/10. I didn't think it was possible to have an incorrect opinion. Then I saw a review rate a fantastic game 1/10 because it was "too harrrd ((((". I have two words for you, sonny boy; Git gud
People who interrupt me in the middle of something to do them a favor that could totally have waited till I was done. MLP Forums is pretty much the #1 hub on the Internet for bronies who act like that. I'd find it hilarious were I not shackled to that place by having friends there.
I wasn't talking about MLP Forums though... My only gripe about MLP Forums is that it's too big for me. I like smaller communities, and that's why I joined this site.
Oh, I know you weren't. I just thought what you said about fake, snobbish, exclusionary people just fit way too perfectly with the spirit of that place for me not to bring it up. I do wish Everypony had more active users, but thankfully this place doesn't reek of elitism.
Pretty much all pretentious forum moderators and the kiss-asses who kiss their asses. I'm part of this Zelda forum that has inexperienced members made into moderators simply because they suck on the schlongs of the other mods and administrators. They don't need to have experience. They don't have to be decent at the job. They just have to be pathetic kiss-ups, and they're pretty much guaranteed to get the position.
Maple I'm particularly annoyed by a similar phenomena. Except rather than scenarios where new members who suck up to the admins being forum mods, it's those times where you see the personal friends and love interests of one or more of the admins that making up the entirety of the forum staff. In those cases, as soon as you get into the slightest disagreement, it's you against the every single member of staff.
That's the case for a lot of forums, unfortunately. It's completely unjust, but there's not much us small, insignificant members can do about it. We've just gotta try our bestest not to have our own thoughts that conflict with the thoughts of the almighty overlords that rule the sites.
There's always those who end up fighting the authorities, and they simply end up getting banned. Such is the way of the internet. Although, since there's an exception to most rules, it would be interesting to see what the result of something happening differently might be. I can imagine that someone with sufficient technical skill might hack the forum as a method of revenge, but that's unlikely to any much lasting effect; you'd need a more creative solution if you wanted to actually change something. Still, there's one idea that annoys me more than the above. Sometimes you see a concept very similar to the above, except some of the members of the ruling circle aren't actually forum mods or admins, per se. Instead, they're just close friends of a moderator or admin, and simply delegate to their friend-in-power whenever they feel that something isn't going the way they feel is right; living larger-than-life on the internet seems to be a growing problem in our society.
That's exactly what makes me glad this place doesn't have a "like" feature for posts, like MLPF's "brohoof" or WoE's "hoof boop". Such systems lend themselves quite easily to attention hoes who make the most infuriatingly pointless of posts (usually blog updates) intended to say nothing profound or humorous, just shamelessly bait for "likes". As if their overall count equates to some sort of massive E-phallus.
I guess I never got to know anyone well enough to spot the elitists. That's a good thing, I suppose. Anyway, I really want to make EP my new comfy community. I'm just bad at fitting in
-people who refuse to accepot the fact that "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" is a children's book, written as a children's book, and it's pretty tame by children's books standards (honestly, Roald Dahl is a lot creepier and trippier. Why don't Ropald Dahl book get the "oiit's all about death and madness and drugs" treatment?) -people who excuse Doug or Brad or James or even Linkara's actions with "it wasn't him, it was the character". First of all, when the criticize Katniss Everdeen's actions or Gandalf's actions, we aren't implying that Jennifer Lawrence or Ian Mckellen are the ones responsable for those actions, or even that the opinions of Katniss or Gandalf reflect those of Lawrence and McKellen. Second...Doug/Brad/Linkara/James act EXACTLY the same in their "vlogs" videos, the only real difference is the whole "storyline"/"sketch" aspect of it, their opinions and personalities are exactly the same -peole whose ONLY criticism of "The Hunger Games" is "BATTLE ROYALE RIPOFF!". As a fan of both the "Hunger Games" movies AND the books, this drives me insane. "The Running Man" came out in the 80s, and the Stephen King book is even older. "Battle Royale" is a ripoff of "The Running Man", so SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY -people who whine about "movies are awful nowadays, it's all Hollywood junk!". Where WERE you hypocrites when "Blue is the Warmest Color" was released? How about watching "Philomena" or "The Grand Budapest Hotel" instead of *****ing every time a superhero movie or a science fiction movie comes out? -atheists who feel the need to insult me or yell "you are stupid, you believe in a fairytale and that makes you stupid!" at me every time I mention I'm a Christian. To paraphrase Raven, "I respect that you don't believe in God. Please respect the fact that I DO believe in God." -"angels are evil/are trying to destroy the Earth" plotlines. They are tired and cliched and are just born out of reactionary hatred towards us Christians. People flip their lid whenever Hades or Anubis are portayed as villains, yet they don't seem to care when an aspect of my religion that I hold dear gets villified for the sake of a movie -peopole who keep yelling "IT'S NOT CANON!" when I talk about my writings. First of all, SOME it is is canon or could be considered canon (the Essences of Virtue are a good way of explaning what the hell happened at the end of "Equestria Girls", it's not unreasonable to assume that the Pony Sunset Shimmer would have a human counterpart on Earth, the "Four Good Witches, Four Wicked Witches" helps explain a lot of plotholes in most Oz adaptations). Second, yes, I know it's not canon. It's not meant to be canon. It's just how my writings work. I don't yell at "Evangelion: Nobody Dies", or the Hasbroverse, or "The Conversion Bureau" for not being canon, so stop yelling at my writings for not being canon -people who go "they wouldn't fight" any time a new Science VS Magic fight is up. I had to make up the whole "Overlords of Magic and Science" and "Combat rage" thing just to shut those people up. Look, my site is a tribute to (among other things), "Celebrity Deathmatch". NOBODY watched "Celebrity Deathmatch" and went "this is wrong, they wouldn't fight!". So, stop using that as your reply. -people who use the Ultimate comics to justify the fact that every single modern non-comic depiction of Nick Fury is the Samuel L. Jackson version. Nick Fury was created as white in the 60s, DECADES before the Ultimate impirint even existed. He has been white for several years, and the canonical comic version of him is still white. Why can't we bring back Nick Fury as originally envisioned by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in non-comic media? -North Americans who ask me about my opinion on things like Nascar, North American football, WWE, Conan O'Brien or Fox News. I'm not from the United States of America. I don't KNOW about those things. I don't CARE about those things. -people who forgive everything that the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon show does because "it happened in the 1987 show!". Did everyone completely forget about the 2003 show? Does anyone even realize the Mirage comics are the ACTUAL source material. -also, people that go "April isn't a redhead, this movie is ruined" when watching the trailer for this year's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie. April O'Neil was a brunette in the original Mirage comics, she was envisioned as a brunette by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. Depicting April as a brunette with darker skin is one of the few things Michael bay got right, April as a Wonderbread readhead was an invention of the 1987 show -"cool story, bro". It's a stupid comebacks made by morons who can't come with a decent way to counter an opinion they don't like, or to criticize a story even though they have ZERO legimitate reasons to criticize it. -a lot of things TV Tropes says and does. Not all giantesses are evil, getting shot in the arms or legs isn't always fatal, and Draco Malfoy is not some moustache-twirling unredeemable villain. -Cracked bringing up scientific facts in their articles. If you are gonna use delibarate misinformation, exxageration, and satire, you can't turn around and try to bring actual scientific facts into your articles -a lot of the things done to Derpy Hooves. Her name is and has always been Derpy Hooves, and his original voice fit the character and her personality better -people who insist "Snow White and the Huntsman" is an horror movie. It's actually epic fantasy. Dark epic fantasy, but still epic fantasy (and really, no darker than most other epic fantasy movies. "The Black Cauldron", "Princess Mononoke", "Legend", "The Last Unicorn" and even "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" are just as dark, yet nobody call those movies "horror movies"). -whenever "Once Upon a Time" deviates from the source material. If the mission statement of the shows is to depict the characters faithfully, why give their Alice an Impostor-based backstory? Why make Peter Pan into some psychotic supervillain (sure, he was mischievous and snarky in the book, but he was no more "villanous" than characters like Bugs Bunny, Freakazoid or the Animaniacs)? Why make his shadow into some sort of eldritch abomination? And why the weird combinations of characters (The Witch Queen + The Wicked Witch of the East + The Miller's Daughter, Rumpeltitlskin + The Neverland Crocodile + The Beast, Red Riding Hood + The Big Bad Wolf + The Wolf from "Peter and the Wolf", the Knave of Hearts + Will Scarlet)? -people who say Vanellope, Megara, Eilonwy and Kida aren't princesses just because they are not part of the merchandising. It doesn't matter what the merchandidsing says, they are Disney Animated Canon characters, they are princesses, ergo they are Disney Princesses. For that matter, Mulan and Pocahontas aren't princesses no matter what the merchandidsing says -the people who want "Big Hero 6" to have no elements from the Marvel universe. I mean, really? This is the very first Disney Animated Canon movie based on a Marvel comic book, and you want to butcher the importance of such an event by not featuring Marvel characters? Seeing Nick Fury, Dormammu, Baron Mordo, Damage Control or the Runaways in a Disnry Animated Canon movie would be awesome, are you guys allergic to awesome?
