When I try to open the chat, it shows like it's loading up, but then suddenly goes back to the forum page. I don't know what to do. I already cleared out my cache and cookies, but it doesn't do anything.
Hi there. What browser(s) is this happening on? Have you tried disabling any newly installed plugins or extensions?
Internet Explorer 9, I think. As far as I know, there aren't any plugins installed. It's a public computer, but gets cleaned out a lot, and it was working for me last time I was here. - - Auto Merge - - AH! It works now!
This is happening to me again. I cleared out my cache, but I'm not sure what else to try. I've attempted it on IE and Firefox.
My initial thoughts are that a public computer may have extra monitoring software that watches what you're doing. It's possible it's messing with your attempts to use the Chat but it's puzzling that it's selective. I'll look into it on my end but I'd check whether there's anything peculiar in the system tray. Maybe one of those is the monitoring system.
It seemed to be working for a bit on my friend's computer, but once I loaded up one of my programs, I got booted from the chat and could not come back in, getting the same problem again.
As far as I recall, U1304 is basically a fancily marketed proxy client. I'm not entirely certain why you would need it, as likely the only sites you can access with it and otherwise would not be able to, are sites that have geographic viewing restrictions.
Whatever you'd like to call it, I've been using it for years, and I've never had to worry about catching anything from the internet. P.S. I have used it and the chat has worked with it in the past.
Is this Ultrasurf? I imagine this is why you are being booted off. If your IP changes at any time i.e. through an auto-tunneling/encryption proxy program such as this, you WILL get booted out. 100% of the time. Just how the chat works. Same would happen for example if you were to change to another network (WiFi to 4G for example). As for "working in the past", this is probably because your client did not switch IP during your session. As for the public computer, you should see if you are bouncing off of different wifi access points as that will change IP as well. I did not think about that little quirk of the chat at the time you first posted this thread.
Okay, well I'm saying it's not connecting to begin with. It appears to be loading, the bounces back. Which it had only done a while back, as the reason this was initially made, but hadn't any time before that. Also, the recent experiences weren't at a public computer.
