This is definitively a show for little girls eh. That DBZ action was totally unexpected but awesome in its execution. Props to the guys who animated that.
Oh, yeah... perhaps the biggest reveal of all... WE'VE BEEN WRONG ABOUT LUNA'S CUTIE MARK THIS WHOLE TIME!!! The moon itself is her cutie mark! The dark patch is just part of her fur!
10/10! That was an awesome finish to the season! There's very little I didn't like about it. I avoided all the spoilers and to hear the bad guy's name was Tirek just made my day! The only way this could have been any better is if he was allowed to say, "Twilight Sparkle, give me the alicorn magic or your friends' heads will roll!" But they did everything else they could under a Y7 restraint to make him a badass. And that wasn't the best fight scene in G4, it was the GREATEST MLP BATTLE EVER!!! I'm serious...if you take the time to watch G1 cartoons a few of them have fights too. And the climax was reminiscent of Equestria Girls but this seemed a lot more feelsy to me somehow.
I've just got one thing to say, KAMEHAMEHA! That was just bucking awesome! Never thought they'd have a fight like that in MLP, but they pulled it off. The whole thing in general was just excellent. This one felt like it had a bit more build up compared to the other season premiers/finales, reminding me a lot of the series premiere in terms of flow. Though I was worried for a bit that part one was going to end up being a clip show. But it all certainly paid off. I was guessing that the box would hold a new element, a combination of the six, so friendship itself. Suppose I wasn't too far off, but didn't expect it to be a power that builds castles and turns ponies super saiyan lol. Gona have to wait till next season to see what it's fully all about though I suppose, but at least now there's some direction with Twilight's new status. After all that came before him this generation, Tirek had a pretty high bar to reach in terms of villains, but I don't think he disappointed. He had a very megalomaniacal wrecking ball quality to him, and turning Discord (something I think everypony had been waiting for) just solidified that "oh he's gota die" feeling. Also, oh my gosh, all the princesses singing together! I'm pretty sure I stopped breathing for it's duration. Absolutely beautiful, though I think I'm gona need a lullabies by Luna cd now. Can't really say more as my brain is mush from being overloaded. But what I do know is that it was a perfect ended to a great season, totally worth the wait. But on the flip side it's gona make waiting for season five sooo much harder now!
So, as the Princess of Friendship, does this mean that Twilight's jurisdiction is everywhere and anywhere in Equestria?
That battle... Sooo Dragon Ball Z. xD I couldn't even believe I was seeing such in a My Little Pony cartoon. lol Anyway, I'm VERY glad that the rainbow powers were not permanent, and I think the season's story was tied up in a nice way. I also like Discord so I'm glad his friendship with the ponies was actually sincere (really wasn't a certain thing before this) and he didn't turn into a full-blown villain again, get defeated, and sealed away again for the rest of the show.
Soooo...... anyone else notice that Discord never really got to turn Equestria topsy-turvy while he was "free"?
I really like the way they handled the rainbow power thing. It could very well have been the girliest thing ever... But they did the right thing. It was short, EXTREMELY EPIC, and the designs weren't overly girly like I was expecting... The scene where they gained the powers was amazing I immediately thought "going super saiyan!" I really, really loved all of this...
HOLY SOMETHING I CAN'T SAY ON THIS FORUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was the best finale EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even pick out my favorite things about it because it was just pure wall-to-wall awesomeness incarnate!!!! I am blown away and that was the perfect conclusion to the best season by far!
