How many more seasons of MLP do you think there will be? Yes, I know they said they have a plan for the next 5 years of MLP, but that doesn't necessarily mean more seasons of the show.
Five, maybe six seasons. I wouldn't hope for any more than that. Thing is, if they ever make a G5 series, they're likely expected to be in favor of the new target audience (that target audience being bronies) unlike now where they're obligated to please the intended target audience for G4. Be VERY afraid...
Realistically, the show will continue for as long as the franchise is profitable. It may end after Season Five, it may continue for another ten years. There's really no way to predict this kind of thing.
^ This! Hasbro still has and will always have the 'buy our toys' mentality. With the explosion of popularity this franchise has gained from this generation, expect them to completely slay the ghost on trying to capitalize.
Quality wise, I think it'll hit its apex at Season 6 and then continue until Season 8 before they introduce G5. I sincerely hope im wrong though because I want Ponies to last forever.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_My_Little_Pony:_Friendship_Is_Magic_episodes Check the section under season five. I'm assuming another five seasons for G4 based on this information. I can't imagine Hasbro is eager to change the franchise based on its current marketing value. I've been dreading the day when it happens but I know ponies will end eventually ... maybe G5 will be almost as good as G4, here's hoping anyway. We just have to hope that Hasbro doesn't change anything drastically when the time comes, which they shouldn't based on how well G4 is doing. As far as I'm concerned that's an issue for five years down the road. At the very least we can all just watch reruns and read fanfics, there's enough of them to last at least one lifetime.
Oh, no need to worry my friend. The ride will derail from one track, then merge onto a magnificent new track that will be even better than before
Exactly. As long as the franchise is making money, it will continue. Fans have power too though, look at what happened with Star Trek.
I don't claim to know how many seasons Friendship Is Magic will continue. All I can hope is for: A, no or few dips in quality. B, that the story goes where it's supposed to and reaches some definite conclusions. Which is a pretty open-ended idea. I have no idea how they're going to realistically accomplish Twilight "spreading the magic of friendship everywhere" as stated at the end of Twilight's Kingdom Part 2. But the Cutie Mark Crusaders gaining their cutie marks actually is a tangible goal and one that I hope to see.
