I see that Snowy Shuffles has already uploaded his reading, which can be found here. In this same Ventrilo chat, they wanted me to read Rainbow Factory in a Derpy impression, so I gave it my best shot. It started out being not too serious, but I felt like getting into it and adding some pizzazz. So it's a borderline serious reading, I suppose. If any mods or admins have a problem with this thread due to it linking to something which may be for more mature audiences, PLEASE take it down, I don't mean to offend or anything like that, we were just having fun and I thought that I would share it with you all. Now, I bring you Lightning_Mustang reads Rainbow Factory in a failed Derpy impression while trying to keep it somewhat serious. As the statement to the mods says, the story itself is grimdark and mature. Listen at your own risk.
If and when I read this or listen to it. It will be after I finish Past Sins. After cupcakes though I'm a little nervous to read it. But I'll check out your recording some time.
Not scares, Just makes me uncomfortable. I've had the pleasure of reading it once and having it read to me.
Not my greatest impression. I think I've done better for Derpy Hooves, but it's hard to maintain that style of voicing for so long. I originally was going for a silly feel, but kind of got carried away with the story and started reading it epically while still trying to keep a Derpy voice lol. Rainbow Factory isn't nearly as detailed in it's gore in my opinion, but does have some violent content and swearing.
I have no problem with language, but the gore gets me all uncomfortable. I don't have a problem with gore as far a movies, comics, video games. Cupcakes was the first thing that unsettled me.
I just finished listening to it for the second time (first being last night live!). Despite what you said about your Derpy voice, whether it was able to be maintained or not, it was still a very good read and now I can add Rainbow Factory to my list of fanfics I've read, or I suppose in this case, heard. Good job, Lightning. I look forward to any other readings you may pursue with or without the Derpy voice, also any karaoke you may be planning to post in the Everypony Karaoke thread. Now I'll never look at rainbows the same way again. Thanks, fanfic writers. I always thought rainbows were simply a product of the refraction and reflection of light by many raindrops. Confound those stupid physics and meteorology courses teaching me the wrong things.

I'm definitely planning on entering some submissions for the EPR Karaoke once I get some spare time to get them recorded. ePONYmous, you should tell your physics and meteorology instructors that you've discovered where rainbows actually do come from.
