If we were the only fandom on the internet, that'd be like waaaaaaat. Pretty sure we ain't. So what do you think about fandoms besides FiM? Can't say much myself. I've only been hearing **** from other people namely about the furry and anime fandom or specific types of anime fandoms like DBZ and Naruto and whatever. So yeah.
About the only other fandom I really know anything about is the one for Harry Potter. That's mostly because I was a part of it. I was nowhere near as involved as I am in this one but the common denominator I see is the comradery of those involved and the passion they share for the subject matter. It's really quite inspiring.
I'm a member of multiple fandoms, everything from Whovians and Fannibals to Gaters and Hooligans. Just like the Brony fandom, most of them are nice, normal people that happen to enjoy a particular show, with a few whackjobs that give the rest of the fandom a bad name.
You're not a whackjob, you're just enthusiastic. I'm talking about people like Pinkiepony, Purple Tinker, and Jin (the guy that married a Twilight Sparkle plushie).
Based around it, yes. Also the TV show, but that's somewhat lesser. Still very cool. Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
I'm a Brony, a Anime fan or Otaku, a fighting game fan and a superhero fan so yeah i'm a member of four fandoms.
Besides brony, I am a Lion King fan. I have not been that active in the TLK fandom since becoming brony. I even went as far as to dye my hair a nice bright purple with semipermanent. Well, that is beside the point. Mostly for fandoms I am not involved in, I try not to judge. But, my views on the furry fandom are mixed. My first impression was an introduction to the dark side of the furry fandom. This wasn't in person, but online when I asked for it to be explained to me. After that I did meet some more normal furries. But, the first description still hangs in the back of my mind when that fandom is mentioned.
I don't consider myself a Lion King fan or a Frozen fan but ironically before Frozen came out Lion King was my favorite Disney movie but now it's Frozen.
I think that there are a multitude of fandoms is awesome. People should come together to share ideas and enjoy discussing their favorite subjects. This is what any other grouping technically does. Discuss, celebrate and enjoy! It's the zest of life.
I am a fan of Top Gear (U.K) and the people met who also like the show are nice. I also am a classic film fan, not sure if that is a fandom, but I have meet people who love classic films.
I like things and generally hate fandoms. If I find specific people who like something and are good to talk to, then I'll be relatively civil to them. The bigger the fandom, the less likely it is to find such a person (because of the smart/dumb ratio.) Furry and anime are two of the biggest fandoms there are. Good luck finding the diamonds in the crap.
Other fandoms? Four words: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I love being part of that fandom, though the Sentai elitists (Sentai being the Japanese TV show Power Rangers was adapted from) get on my nerves. Besides that, I also consider myself a fan of Transformers, Doom, Star Trek, Pokémon, Halo, and Godzilla, just to name a few. They all have their bad apples, of course, but it's worth it in the long run. Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
I don't really join fandoms (I barely consider myself a brony, tbh), only because I can't get into anything on the level that the true, dedicated, hardcore fans do. That being said, at one time I was in the furry fandom (been out of it for years now), and while I like Star Trek I don't take any active role in that fandom. Same goes for Star Wars.
