Oh but it is very engaging. Its not like skyrim or dragon age where some boring buttmunch drones the story out. The story is told through the areas you go to. And even the descriptions of items. The enemies you fight. And especially the bosses. There is some dialogue that tells you key elements to what you are supposed to do. (Like when the giant nigel thornberry snake shows up, no really. that happens.) But the worlds lore is left for you to piece together. And good friggin luck button mashing through dark souls. You'd have a better chance trying to knock a brick wall down with a toffee hammer.
I will say that Dark Souls has rich lore and is not a button mashing game. That said, the lord of Dark Souls is actually much more like the lore of Skyrim than anyone will be will to admit; the reason is because in Skyrim, many story elements unique to that game are handed to you in NPC dialogue, but the real story of Tamriel is told in references to past games as well as the lore books, which you will have to go out of your way to read. The player in both games is often forced to put much of the lore together in their own head in order to make sense of it. That said, the gameplay in the two games is completely different. I like games with direct stories as well as more explorative games, so while I will enjoy some Skyrim, Oblivion or Dark Souls from time to time, I also really enjoy games like Mass Effect which have a direct narrative and unique characterization. I appreciate both styles in their own way. Off the top of my head, I'd say that I prefer the Mass Effect series to the Elder Scrolls or Souls series.
I actually get really bored of bioware style RPG's. Tried mass effect demo. Couldn't get engaged. Reminded me of borederlands oddly. And borderlands gets really boring after one playthrough. Tried dragon age. Hated it. Weird becaused i loved kotor. Maybe it was the star wars skin, or the fact it requred more skill to play than operating a microwave.
I play dark souls cause it's the only game I've played so far that leaves me swearing profusely in my head after a while lol. And yes the story is something that is slowly revealed to you through the game. Playing Darksouls is like Masochism. It hurts but you like it so much you keep coming back.
Scooby and the gang are already in a band, called The Meddling Kids. They played with the Hex Girls at a concert in a Australia in the movie Scooby-Doo! and the Legend of the Vampire.
End the day with a game of Dwarf Fortress. Potentially, it'll never end, thus no time will have passed, and you will not have aged. The perfect anti aging solution. Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
Funny. I can't even touch this type of stuff due to a liver problem I've always had. This much, or even attempting this, could probably kill me. But still, I agree. Not only is the pressure off, those straws are at the wrong angles.
