Or you could look around first to see if anything is there. Even if you don't see anything, you could walk over to the item and back off to see if anything jumps out.
I'm kind of wondering if I made the wrong choice for character class. Pyromancer fits my play style for most RPGs, but I'm wondering if some other class would have been better suited for a first play.
Pyromancy is an.. interesting style, when it comes to Dark Souls. It does tend to really change the way you play, aye. My suggestion for a first play would have to be a Knight or Warrior, as they're the most basic of classes that can be turned into whatever direction you require. Exactly -because- of how basic they are, they'll give you a good grasp of the core mechanics, and still offer you a very steep challenge when it comes to enemies.
I restarted the game once, not because I chose the wrong class but because I leveled it oddly. Pyromancer is a pretty good pick for a first playthrough, I've heard. The Warrior class has also been recommended to me, but I was just really excited about the Knight class so that's what I'm playing as. My friend plays as the Pyromancer and he says it makes a number of the encounters easier due to its ranged fire magic. Still can't get past the Hydra, though. Dx
Good to know. I might start a new game with a knight, just to see the difference. Yeah, the ranged fire is great, especially for enemies near cliff edges.
I play a wanderer class and I did a bit of research on the best way to level them for first timers so basically I'm going vitality dexterity and endurance. It makes the beginning of the game quite difficult because your first weapon is a scimitar which uses slash and most of the zombies and bosses are armoured. But it pays off now because I've got a katana which scales excellently with dexterity.
I got myself the Drake sword. I plan on using it until I can level one of my other weapons sufficiently.
Ah, the infamous Drake sword... With the speed and damage it can put out, it might be a while until you'll replace it. It'll give you an edge against enemies your level and slightly above, just don't get too used to combat being easy~
I've got one too. It is about equal to my +5 halberd now and will probably be surpassed by the halberd soon.
I want my own personal matrix. Jack into it when i go to bed and have fully lucid dreams the whole 12 hours. Would certainly give me an incentive to go to bed.
This. Can we have this? But instead of a personal matrix, turn it into a fantasy life MMORPG where we can go adventure and have fun together?
