While its definitely suspicious for him to call and admit a hoax, I just have a hard time believing if the scenario he presented was true, that he'd ever take any action to cast doubt on it, if we were truly at threat, why didn't he blurt out more info if he was being forced to call, or even just concede and meet death for the refusal of calling hoax. Ratings and listeners, that's a reason for a hoax. Stage some real weird caller that's talking about end of the world crap, cut it off intentionally and make it look like an accident, and you get an absurd amount of attention. Months later, after you got all you can out of the event, calm everyone back down and get them out of their bunkers by admitting a hoax. Besides, I would think an exraterristial or extradimensional invasion would be a lot more hostile
Well if half life is anything to go by, it'd be over in a few hours. Any alien with the capability to tunnel to other worlds and deliver a military force probably isn't gonna be fazed by bullets and nukes.
