Well, I know some of you might be questioning if Rainbow Dash really represents the element of loyalty or not... well I am here to tell you all that she is in fact, loyalty! Here are all the times that she lives up to her element of harmony: 1- Episode 1 and 2, where she tries to get Nightmare Moon, because "only SHE knows where the princess is" and when she questions Twilight Sparkle about the elements of harmony and accuses her of being a spy "are you a SPY?!" and near the end where she chooses to stay with her friends, and their quest to find the elements over her own personal desires to fly with the Shadowbolts, later gaining the Element of Loyalty from Twilight Sparkle. 2- Episode 5, where in the beginning, she runs away from Pinkie Pie, AND bluntly admits "you know Pinkie, you're not as annoying as I thought!", BUT at the end stands up to Gilda, and is honest about the pranks being all HER ideas, not Pinkie Pie's, but is also being loyal by defending her "new friends" from Gilda (old friend(s)) and tells her to find others to hang around if "being cool is all you care about" for her Ponyville friends. 3- Episode 7, where she is being loyal to Ponyville. 4- Episode 16, where even though she was a nervous wreck, still managed to pull off a sonic rainboom to save Rarity's life, even though Rarity was being thoughtless towards Rainbow Dash. That was a loyal act. 5- Episode 21, where she flies off to save Spike, and telling Pinkie Pie to "run, Pinkie. i'll hold them off. save yourself!" and the fact that she sides with the buffalo's traditional stampeding grounds that they have stampeded over for many years and were not going to give it up without a fight. this shows that she understands what they feel, because she herself is a loyal pony. 6- Episode 23, where she defends Fluttershy from bullies without even having to think about it, and races them to defend Fluttershy's honor, also creating a sonic rainboom, which helped all her friends in their time of need, also help them all get their cutie marks. 7- Episode 25, where she doesn't let Pinkie Pie miss her birthday, even though it was a little difficult to get her to go with her, she wasn't leaving without Pinkie Pie. 8- Season 2 episode 1 and 2, where she is quick to come to princess Celestia's defense when Discord throws insults at her, and tries to fight Discord later in the show and near the end, she goes crazy asking "how's Ponyville? where are the elements? have we stopped Discord?" 9- Season 2 episode 3, where she jumps in front of Twilight Sparkle when they all think princess Celestia is going to send her away; Rainbow Dash is trying to protect Twilight Sparkle. 10- Season 2 episode 7, when even though the falcon was "and it's everything I wanted in a pet" but chose Tank the tortoise over his loyalty, even though it might have kept Rainbow Dash grounded, showing that Rainbow Dash values loyalty. 11- Season 2 episode 14, where she relentlessly pursues Applejack to bring her back home to Ponyville saying that "we didn't come all this way to go home without you" now i know she left Pinkie and Rarity behind, but Rainbow is right: they KNEW what they were getting into and Rainbow Dash wasn't going to abandon their initial mission to bring back Applejack. 12- Season 2 episode 15, where she yells out "I OUGHTTA PRESS YOU INTO JERK CIDER!!!" after the Flim Flam bothers threaten to get rid of Sweet Apple Acres, replacing it with their own business, also insulting the Apples, and trying to force Applejack out of town. 13- Season 2 episode 21, where she obviously cares about Spike, and doesn't want him getting hurt, and where she tries to fly after Spike saying "i'm sorry, but i've gotta save Spike!" and when she tackles a dragon who tries to take down Spike from climbing to the top of the gem mound, yelling "OH NO YOU DON'T!", and near the end, where she yells out "NOPONY'S GONNA LAY A CLAW ON HIM!" 14- Season 2 episode 22, where she believes in and supports Fluttershy as a friend, even more than Fluttershy herself, and near the end, she didn't want to give up trying to get the water to her hometown, Cloudsdale, saying "i've gotta know gave it our all! if i'm going down i'm going down flying!" and saying that it was Fluttershy, not her, who showed guts. 15- Season 3 episode 1 and 2, where she doesn't want to leave Twilight Sparkle with king Sombra around, but goes to try and keep the crystal ponies happy after Twilight tells her to, also protects the crystal heart from curious ponies with Applejack. 16- Season 3 episode 7, where she abandons her life long dream for her friends, and confronts Lightning Dust for putting her friends in danger, not only that but she was being loyal to herself, saying that "if that what it means to be a Wonderbolt, then i don't want any part of it... i quit. 17- Season 3 episode 10, where she stays wary of Discord and is the first to come up with a second plan in case things went wrong. 18- Season 3 episode 13, when Twilight switches her with Fluttershy's element by accident, finds out that being there for Ponyville is what she was meant to do, her destiny. 19- Season 4 episode 1 and 2, where she is still wary of Discord, is also fast to break off the vines that are attacking Fluttershy. 20- Season 4 episode 4, when she came through for Daring Do even though Daring said "i don't need you" 21- Season 4 episode 10, where she chooses to fly with her friends, over flying with the team that would surely win, saying that even though she loves winning, she loves her friends "way more!" 22- Season 4 episode 18, where at first she thought that Maud was very different from her, later accepts her saying "and we're totally cool with it!" 23- Season 4 episode 22, where at first says that she wanted a book more than anything, later says that there is "no thing worth more to me, than a friend", and near the end says that the book Twilight gave her is better, because she could read that one with "all my friends!" 24- Season 4 episode 25 and 26, she's STILL wary of Discord. 25- in one of the the Equestria girls 2 shorts, Rainbow Dash chooses the guitar she used to battle Trixie with, over the guitar she first wanted. - well, that's all i can think of... i will come back in another post pointing out all the times she wasn't very loyal at all... but still, she fits the element of loyalty very well. remember; no one's perfect.
Is it really necessary to use the largest font available so nobody can read it without scrolling often and straining their eyes? This could have easily been done in less than half a page.
It's a bad day to be using Changeling Green. On topic- Noice. I still think the Elements of Honesty and Loyalty are exchangeable though.
I almost go as far to say as their elements should be switched. AJ seems more loyal than honest in literally all of her episodes. Hell they call her the most loyal and dependable of ponies. RD owns up to her mistakes and that's one of the foundations of being honest, is with yourself. Sent from my XT1080M using Tapatalk
List of episodes in which Applejack is loyal: All of them List of episodes where Rainbow Dash struggles to be loyal: Almost all of them in which she stars
Well, pretty much everyone has been loyal to one pony or another in the same sense Applejack is. Except for... well, Rainbow Dash. <_<
Yeah, I agree with most of this. But I'm watching Season 4 (at long last), and to the credit of the writers, I have noticed that they've at least attempted to fix the issue this season. The other day, I was taken aback when, in Rarity takes Manehatten, Rarity says how she had acted so wrongly towards her friends. Apple Jack responds with a blunt "Yeah, you were pretty rotten". This seemed pretty out of character to me, but what really got me was how Ronbow Dosh then proceeded to tell her off for being so frank- despite the fact that this seemed like the sort of thing Ronbow would be more likely to say anyway. And don't forget that in Maude Pie, Apple Jack is the one who finally owned up to Pinkie about them not feeling close enough with Maude to make the Candy rock necklaces. No-one else there could buck up the courage to say a lone sentance. But yeah, for the most part, I still agree. But I think the show's stepping in the right direction- Gradually.
That's why the Human Rainbow Dash (the human from the human world) has the Essence of Courage instead, it fits her character better.
Funnily enough, when I google'd "Essence of Courage Rainbow Dash", the first result was this site, this topic and this very page. I've never heard of the Essence of Courage- What is that, Airship?
It's my way of explaining what happened at the end of "Equestria Girls". Since the Elements of Harmony don't exist on Earth, the Human Six have their own power, the Essences of Virtue. Only, unlike the Elements of Harmony, this power doesn't come from trinkets, but from deep within them. When the Pony Sunset Shimmer (in her demon form) shot the Mane Six with that energy beam, it unlocked the power hidden withim them. Human Rainbow Dash has the Essence of Courage. Human Applejack has the Esssence of Commitment. Human Fluttershy has the Essence of Compassion. Human Pinkie Pie has the Essence of Comedy. Human Rarity has the Essence of Redemption. And Human Twilight Sparkle has the Essence of Wisdom. Together, the Essences of Virtue can form the Holy Rainbow. Since Twilight Sparkle's human counterpart wasn't present at the moment, the Pony Twilight Sparkle used the Element of Magic in the place of the Essence of Wisdom.
For those who are completely clueless about all this: http://www.everypony.com/forums/sho...tue-my-headcanon-for-the-source-of-Pony-magic You need to realize there's a fine line between headcanon and actual canon...
If you have a better explanation for what the hell happened at the end of "Equestria Girls" (since the Elements of Harmony DON'T EXIST ON EARTH), please, I'm all ears.
I don't have a better explanation. In my opinion however, having no explanation at all is better than making stuff up and pretending that's what happened. Let's leave it at that (since we are kind of going off-topic here).
