Well I think that with Twilight being a alicorn princess she should be more powerful but I think that Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Applejack should all be very powerful but not as much as Princess Twilight however even though Rarity is my favorite pony and Fluttershy is a very close second I think that they should be the weakest but they should by no means by pushovers.
But at the same time, that fight only demonstrated a heavy power imbalance between Twilight and her friends, the same way Goku's non-saiyan friends were constantly sidelined or murdered for the benefit of the saiyans' empowerment. Twilight's friends were victimized and might as well be murdered to make way for her stupid amount of bad-assery. If you like the fight because of its resemblance to DBZ, then you need to understand why DBZ isn't a good show, and it's because it taught children divine right and genetic destiny, namely through Toriyama's constant dependence on saiyans to solve problems at the expense of every other character of other races. It doesn't promote racial equality, friendship, or teamwork in any meaningful way, because it was constantly reinforcing that only saiyans can save the day because every other species is racially inferior. And that's the same downfall as the fight; Twilight was stupidly overpowered because she was an alicorn, while her friends were instantly disposable because they weren't.
First of all, That power Twilight had was the power of four different alicorns. Second, they where temporary. Third, i don't like the fight because of its resemblance to DBZ i don't like that anime. Fourth, Twilight gave all of her magic to save her friends (and her magic meant a lot to her). And lastly, it was with the help of her friends she was able to defeat Tirek, doesn't that show that friendship is stronger then Twilights (temporary) powers?
