~Moved to General MLP Discussion~ Welcome to the site! Though this isn't much of a welcome thread, so I'll put it in the appropriate spot. Personally, I think the Royal Guards do a hefty amount of work. They stand outdoors all day, unmoving and unflinching, to protect the royal family/Canterlot. Every time the ponies are in Canterlot, Royal Guards are seen crawling all over the place. In the time travel episode, Twilight is absolutely scared out of her mind that she's going to be arrested by them for breaking into the palace, and they do indeed patrol around. Heck, they were super active in the Season 2 finale. Their first moment seen is actively preventing any access to the castle. I don't want to know what would happen if they tried to just waltz in.
I must agree the guards have 1 good skill, standing there and showing no emotions for long periods of time. Buuuut, what I still don't get is why they are all male. Seriously explain this to me. please?

Might be true for earth ponies, but I'm sure that pegasi and unicorns would have different, more gender-neutral skills. So I guess that either mares don't want to become guards or Celestia prefers to be surrounded be stallions because of... reasons. :derpe:
How many armies had women in them? The answer is very,very few. Men are just better suited för battle.But we are talking about ponies.You know,horses? So bringing up human history is just stupid. But now when we compare the pony society whit the human one. Today's society thinks that men are supposed have jobs such as guards and firefighters while women should stay home or be a teacher.Maybe the pony society is the same?
well in my opinion if you look at Equestria it is similar to the United States in many ways, so in my opinion I think we shouldn't leave the mares out of this

The only stallion who is important is Shiny Armour,and then there's Spike.that's the only two guys who is important. All of the alicorns is mares.Why do you think the mares is left out?Is it because there is no guards that are mares?
