Hold on a minute! Not all little girls like pink fluffy princesses and tiaras and stuff... Sure I did when I was little but my first ever dream job WAS a farmer! Also in referral to one of my favourite movies from when I was the targeted age of the MLP franchise, Toy Story 2... Jessie was my favourite character and I loved her! So saying little girls don't want to be a dirty farmer is a gross stereotype! I know plenty who do... however aesthetically, the blend of blue, purple and pink that's incorporated in those ponies' colour palettes works well... If you throw in a splash of Orange (which in my opinion would attract more attention being a noticeable colour against all that pink) and it may detract from the others (I know it's a long shot but I'm clutching at straws thinking of a logical explanation other than "she's not a princess")
This may be true but just because the majority prefers the pink stuff, does this mean the minority should be forgotten or forced to join the majority? Simple... Make AJ toys but make less of them... That way the fans (both older and younger) get what they want and Hasbro doesn't waste money making surplus of the less popular toys... Make it special edition xD
Just to clarify and be fair to Hasbro, it's not really just Hasbro. Every company is money leeching and doesn't care about much more than profits, and so panders to the majority while ignoring the minority aside from being careful not to insult them outright. If you're a minority the best you're going to get is the company pretending to care, because they're going with what more people want because that means more money.
