Man, if only I could have lasted long enough through an episode to have been introduced to the plot. I ended up watching it since my younger brother was into it. I hated the animation, but I could have gotten past that if you humor was more appealing. They had a pretty good chance, what with the direction they seemed to be taking, having a lot of self-depreciating references; that sort of thing can be funny when done right. However, I feel like they just said, "Yeah, these jokes are self-depreciating and that's as elaborate as they need to be." There are a bunch of references to the intelligence of the characters and the construction of each episode's narrative, but like you said, it all gets old. The joke about Johnny being an idiot becomes kind of dumb itself without any context; for example, every character in that show is an idiot. They're all the same character with different bodies and voices. So targeting a single character with another character's joke about the first character's intelligence is silly and generally makes the whole show look dumb. Similarly, self-depreciating jokes about the plot of a single episode would be funnier if all the plots of every episode didn't suck equally.
This is an unpopular opinion? Also, obligatory:
I don't think whether an opinion is stupid or not has much effect on how popular it is I actually think it's funny that when someone has REALLY unpopular opinions in the unpopular opinion thread, instead of just an opinion against the mainstream, they are rejected for having an unpopular opinion. :3 Maybe you guys should think about that?
If it was unclear I meant this Michael Jackson: Not a fan of his wild decisions in his later years, but his old stuff will never change.
I think Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy are massively overrated. And also I feel like people either like Trixie way too much, or feel like she's a jerk, or just forget about her completely.
"Overrated" implying that there's no good reason for them to be popular in the first place. Considering they're popular because a crap-ton of fans find them to have the most relatable personalities, I'd say their popularity is completely justifiable. But since I'm here, I might as well state that if any characters are to earn the title of overrated, it would be Vinyl, Derpy, Time Turner Trollestia and just about any other background character with no canonically defined personality to speak of.
Lightning Dust - Best Pony Sunset Shimmer - Best human(Probably not unpopular opinion though) Also, coming from an all-around gamer, console gaming >>>>>>>>>>>> PC gaming. The only good PC games are made by individual developers.
To many to list apparently. At least according to another MLP:FiM board I just left because they kept bashing my "controversial opinions." Where would you all like me to start? How about this... I don't like Equestria Girls and I never will nor will I ever watch it.
Harry Potter is kinda "meh". I think Spider Man could wreck Batman. Recent Sonic games aren't that bad. Final Fantasy Advent Children was an abomination. Nutella isn't that great.
'Next-gen' consoles are just overpriced, overglorified, and already outdated PCs boasting restrictive, proprietary software. Sent from my SGH-T899M using Tapatalk
