Thought of another one. Because apparently this is an unpopular opinion too. The Final Fantasy XIII series is AMAZING.
I'm kind of wondering about this one. Do you dislike Muslims, or are you just indifferent in that you don't like a group based on its core ideology, so you're indifferent to them conceptually.
Just thought of another one. This one is definitely unpopular. I'm a John Cena fan. *cowers in a corner* :ahh:
I dislike people who are followers of Islam. Is that clear enough? I do have reasons, though. Mostly because their beloved prophet Mohammed, whom they believe to be the ideal man, was a child molester. (His favorite bride was nine years old when the marriage was consummated.) Muslims, as a group, also have a long history of abusing dogs. I have a very low opinion of animal abusers. Anybody who thinks pedophilia and animal abuse is less of a sin than accidentally peeing on your own shoes needs to get their priorities straight.
I don't think you should judge religious people just by the negative sides. In the time of Muhammad most people practised pedophilia, incest and rape. Not just Muslims. Same goes for animal abuse.
True, but only Islam calls a pedophile perfect and ideal. Most religions condemn such actions, but Islam celebrates them.
I don't think you're right, sorry. Islam does not celebrate pedophilia. Yes its true that Iran and Saudi Arabia have a very young age of majority, but they do not praise pedophiles as you say.
Actually, they do. Muslims praise Muhammad. Muhammad was a pedophile. Thus, Muslims praise pedophiles.
I'm sorry if I come out rude but that is the most ignorant deduction I have heard. You cant judge all Muslims just because Muhammad was a pedophile. Muslim go by the word of the Quran, not the way Muhammad lived. Some Muslims choose to live the same way Muhammad did, but most of them don't. I know it seems that I'm trying to justify Muhammad here, I'm just trying to justify the Muslims.
I'm mostly indifferent towards them, but I do find a lot of their beliefs to be objectionable, as well. I don't believe in prejudice. I let facts and experience shape my judgements. Facts and experience have led me to the conclusion that I simply do not like Muslims. I don't expect anyone here to agree with me. In fact, I'm sure that a few people probably think of less of me for posting this. Either way, it's my unpopular opinion, and it's unlikely to change.
Well, just because a belief is based on facts and experience doesn't make it not a prejudice. Like you said, it's your opinion, so as much as it can be based on facts and observation, it will still be a prejudice. If you're comfortable with that, that's another thing entirely.
The transitive property as your basis of argument? Surely you're kidding... For some perspective, in seventh century Arabia, during Muhammad's lifetime adulthood was defined at the onset of puberty. At the time, that was just the norm. Just like in the rest of the world at those times the norms were strikingly different than today. And whoever said their relation was purely sexual? Aisha had tons of respect, was granted many privileges, held high status as a military leader and so on. I could give a number of "transitive property" examples for anything and it would be completely baseless. And don't paint such a wide brush. Yes, dogs are seen as "impure" to the Qur'an and it is true that some use this as justification to abuse dogs. However the original intent of what is written is to just state to not be in any form of contact with dogs. The Qur'an does not permit any form of cruelty against animals so those who do are really in violation of its teachings. The Qur'an teaches to respect the animals of the world as if they were communities like your own. Just because dogs are impure, does not mean they are to be denied respect which is a basic fundamental of all living creatures in the eyes of Islam. In radical middle eastern countries, these negative actions are so rampant because the laws and organization to prevent these actions are non-existant. What do you think would happen should the US lack any sort of decent police force? More than dog abuse thats for sure. Bad people will use poor interpretation of their religion as justification, no matter what religion they are a part of, it makes themselves feel better.
I have a strong distaste for religious debates. They anger everyone involved, while failing to conclude any useful ends or achieve any productive resolutions. Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
The definition of prejudice is "preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience." So... yeah. An opinion based on facts and experience is actually the exact opposite of prejudice. There is no excuse that can justify a fifty-four year old man raping a nine year old girl. Ever. As for the "wide brush" bit, that's where personal experience comes in. I have encountered many Muslims, and I tried to give them all the benefit of the doubt. One hundred percent of the time, I found myself disgusted by their opinions, beliefs, or actions. Scientifically speaking, if one hundred percent of a sample group behaves a certain way, it's reasonable to conclude that all members of the group sampled behave similarly. This wasn't something that I just decided one day. It's based on years of experience and a lot of research. - - Auto Merge - - That's not actually an unpopular opinion. In fact, I'd say it's the most intelligent opinion posted so far.
Tis true, but it's less about the religion and more about the blatant distaste of an entire culture based on something found in your average FOX news report. Right. I'm sure you've thoroughly researched all of the individual lives of your 'sample group'. You wins a nobel prize for this amazing discovery!
