With the announcement of the 2017 MLP movie does this unofficially confirm Season 6 or do you think that we will get a super long extended Season 5?
I think that we will get a normal season 5,about 30 episodes and a movie two years after.Just because we get season 5 and a movie,doesn't mean that we will get a season 6.

Bear in mind we still have 5 of the mane 6 that haven't fulfilled their destinies. And 3 little fillies who don't have cutie marks.
Yeah you are right not to mention that we haven't seen fluttershy's parents, rainbow dashes, applejacks or even scotaloo's for that matter theirs 101 ways for them to keep it fresh but like chess you have to think how are you going to keep it fresh and still be this successful
Unfortunately, I agree with pretty much everyone that's already posted here. A movie doesn't really "confirm" Season 6. It could end after Season 5 for all we know. Obviously, I'm hoping that's not the case and doesn't happen, but, we'll just have to see what happens when Season 5 premiers and then ends.
I'm pretty sure they won't kill off their most popular franchise THAT easily. Toy sales would have to fall off pretty sharply for them to make a drastic call like that. I know I'm just as guilty of pointing out the BUY OUR TOYS moments as the next brony but the fact is that the whole thing IS a toy promotion. Regardless of how much we praise the show itself, without Hasbro's toys it wouldn't even exist.
I honestly don't think it'll end at Season 5. I read up somewhere they plan to host bronycons all the way up to 2025. You know the CoD: Black Ops 2 year. Gamers anyone? Anyways, the crew for MLP is very talented and capable and not to mention a huge supportive fan base. So i believe we will have at least a few more Seasons.
