They attacked first. It was unprovoked and cowardly. Why are we the bad guys in this? -Edit- This was done by Dietrich Wegner, an Australian, to "show contradictions between two conflicting ideas."
The point is that it's making light of a serious event that traumatized an entire nation, not that we were the bad guys in WWII. Also I did not know that, but I do know that I'm not the only one who immediately thought this when I saw it Artists and their abstract weird explanations for their art...
I disagree with "unprovoked and cowardly." The Japanese gave the United States multiple offers to negotiate terms before the United States went to war with Japan, but the United States refused to give an inch and the Japanese saw that as the intention to go to war with Japan regardless of negotiations. Both sides willfully misinterpreted the others statements. While we might not have been the "bad guys", I also fail to see any good guys. That paper that I had due yesterday that I told you about was actually an analysis of WWII war crimes. We dropped the bomb on Hiroshima, and the Japanese had plenty of warning for that, so you could say we were trying to end the war quickly and justify that bomb many different valid ways. But when we dropped the bomb on Nagasaki, days after Hiroshima, we dropped it as the Japanese leaders were conducting a meeting deciding whether or not to surrender, and the meeting was a near-50/50 split. We didn't necessarily have to drop the second bomb. We did, and whether or not it helped is debatable, but the Japanese just didn't have ample time to consider the damage done by the first bomb before we dropped the second. The ethical difference between the Nagasaki and Hiroshima bombings is magnificently large. It's not really making light of it, since it's giving it an artistic commentary. Art's just one of those things you can't take literally.

That's definitely not what I meant~ You have every right to be offended and call someone out on that; you don't have the right to silence them because you decided that words are strong enough to break bones. Silencing discussion is one of the worst things you can do to someone, a group of people, or more. Even if they're a less than savoury individual, group, or more. You can tell me to stop talking, sure. That's your free speech. Doesn't mean I will, though. What reason have I to listen to one who has the same rights as I do?
That wasn't being referred to this site. Social media in general. - - Auto Merge - - It is uncommonly common.
I don't believe the people who say they are bi/pansexual, because I feel like the people who say it do so to get social brownie points. "I'm bisexual/pansexual, this shows that I am socially acceptable! Yay, me! You can't dislike me for any reason now, even if it's unrelated to my sexuality, cause then I'm going to make it about my sexuality and you'll end up looking like a closed-minded bigot! " And I am going to say preemptively that yes, I know this isn't everyone. I've just met too many people like this and now I don't believe anyone unless I know them for a very long time and watch them go through several relationships with both genders. Let me just say that the sooner you tell me about your sexuality, the less likely I am to buy it, and the more likely I am to be annoyed about it. If you tell me about it out of the blue when it wasn't even related to the conversation, I'll probably get annoyed too. Because the more eager you are to tell me about it the more fake it seems. Anyways, that's just how I feel on this whole issue.
