"Of course I have." Really? You never told me this story. "I was seventy-five at the time. Not even as adult yet, but I was already leading my own squad at the Academy. During a simple training mission on Ranta'wor, we were attacked by a group of Graniosian pirates. We were outnumbered ten to one. Our comm unit had been hit by shrapnel, and two of my Graa'sor were badly wounded. We retreated to an abandoned mineshaft nearby, and our Stel't'mar managed to get the predator shields up just as the pirates caught up to us. Of course, predator shields are not made to withstand laser fire, and the shield was being depleted faster than the geothermal turbine could recharge it. We had an hour, tops. While the Cad'us tended to my wounded battle-sisters, the Stel't'mar and I searched the mine for a way to fix our comm unit. What we found was an old exosuit, designed to move heavy loads of ore. It was a long shot, but we knew that it was our only chance to survive. It took us most of the hour to cut apart some old ore crates and weld them into suitable armor plating for the exosuit. That left us with no time to arm it with what few weapons we had. I would have to fight close quarters, and pray that the plating would hold long enough for me to keep the pirates away from the squad. The instant the shield failed, I charged out of the mineshaft and attacked the pirate's captain, while my squad collapsed the tunnel entrance behind me. He was dead before he could speak. The others were furious, but without their captain, they could not come up with a battle plan other than 'shoot her, dammit, shoot her.'" Alright... but what about the horses? "I was getting to that. Graniosian warriors are most famous for their use of trained Melesla lizards, vicious predators with nearly indestructible hides. They are about the size and weight of a small Terran horse, and are sometimes used as mounts by the Graniosians. More frequently, however, pairs of Melesla are chained together and set loose upon the enemy ranks. These pirates had a pair of Melesla, chained together according to tradition. The makeshift armor was starting to fail by the time their master set them on me, which is why I grabbed one to use as a shield. It worked better than I expected, and I was able to take down a few more pirates with minimal damage to the exosuit. Then I noticed a pair of pirate grenadiers trying to flank me. They were clearly trying to stick a grenade to the suit. Instinct took over, and I swung the chained lizards as hard as the suit would allow. The nearly indestructible creature struck the pirates like a wrecking ball, snapping one's neck and crushing the other's chest. At that moment, I realized the potential of the creatures in my grasp. Using the duo of chained lizards as nunchucks, I was able to hold off the pirates while my squad ran for the dropship. When they returned with the ship, the pirates that survived the initial volley fled, and my squad and I made it off the planet safely."
Yeah, well. I can keep track of everybody, but not everyone has the level of insanity required to do so.
A powerful battlemage that can use nearly any type of magic in the Multiverse. Ridiculously and unfairly OP to discourage combat roleplay attempts that break the flow of the game.
