I went to buy my first pony toy, on my own. Wearing my Fluttershy I march on to Myers determined not to let any fears stop me. I got to near the toy section and saw a mother with her little daughter, suddenly my confidence faded. I was afraid of what they would think, I guess. So I decided to walk away and walk around the store a bit more hoping the toy area would empty. It didn't.

So then I decided to go to Target. They had a toy section much larger and full of even more mothers with their kids. Urgh! It was going to be impossible not to me seen. I turned around and contemplated. As I walked through the kids clothing section I saw a Princess Celestia dress. Lol I thought now I feel even creepier. I looked back and saw at least the pink aisle empty. All right Lets go.

I walked up with determination into the Pink Aisle looked frantically for MLP and found it and it was quite a big section. I frantically looked for the toy I know I wanted, the 4 molded models. They didn't have it, at least not there. Maybe it was in a section for smaller toys. I walked out of the aisle, disappointed. I quickly walked though a smaller toy section and saw nothing. So I headed back to Myers.

I was almost certain Myers had it because I had already walked into their pink aisle just to see what was there a few days earlier, just had to wait to afford it. So I went to the toy section and saw a little girl and her mother right in the pink aisles. I chickened out again. I walked around a bit and saw the pink aisle empty, but there were still mothers with kids nearby. That's the best I can hope for, I guess.

I walked in quickly grab the 4 mane moldeds which I already knew the location of and proceeded to the checkout. The checkout was empty and there I was holding a pony toy in my hand wearing my Fluttershy shirt in public. The shop moderately populated. There was a sign on the checkout saying, sorry for the inconvenience, please go to the Baby wear checkout for service. OMG how much more awkward could this get?

So I proceed to look for the babywear section passing several other empty checkouts. Finally I got to baby wear and lined up behind someone who was being served, she was having a problem and the cashier had to call for help on a product. The cashier was an old lady, even more awkward. Someone lined up behind me. Wow and I thought it couldn't get worse. I had to wait several minutes before a young woman to came and help. After she finished she went to the second cashier and served me.

"Just this thanks". "Sure" she replied. I saw a subtle smirk on her face, like she had seen this before and wasn't surprised. "Have a good day" she said. "You too". Then calmed down the deed finally achieved and my first pony toys in my possession, hidden by a solid bag.

The same thing kinda happened to me. I walked in the toy aisle with my brother. He said "are you buying them all".

    "yes" I said.

The lady in the aisle looked at her friend and whispered "he's buying ponies"

    "yep" I said aloud.

Then marched to the front, paid for it and felt like a boss.

Glad you finally got some awesome toys. I want the molded ones, but I can never find them.

I'm not exactly the most confident or brave of people, so doing what Pixel did would be almost impossible for me. Good job for getting some toys, though, Setz.

I remember getting my pony toy.
The regular target didn't have it, so I had to go to Super Target.

Nobody questioned anything, I just felt the awesome going up, and the cashier smiled at me. It was a good day.

I really want a Rarity or Fluttershy brushable.

I recently purchased four molded ponies over the interwebz.

Me and I_Ride_Ponies walking in to Tesco, asking the workers there where the My Little Pony merchandise was, carrying the entire mane cast to the checkout (not the self service, the actual checkout), then proceeding to pay £42.

    Like a Faust.

    He filmed it, too.

Setzertrancer, your Story is Just about the same when i got mine, Except a little more different. I Got mine when it was at Night and went to meijers and walked over to the toy section with confidence and Here comes some kids with their mother, So bailed for a little bit to the video game section till the coast was clear and when it was, i rushed as fast as i could and say that they ran out of Rainbow dash and Apple jack. So i Walked out and headed for the other meijers and there was to many people down that aisle, so i waited about 10 to 15 minutes and people still were down there. I left with meijers and went back and went to get pinkie pie instead, but their was a restocker there and he was put more ponies up, so i waited and waited and waited. Man this guy took forever but with enough patience i had, he was done. As soon it was clear, i ran to see what was up and i saw Rainbow dash and grabbed it and hurried along to purchase it but the announcer calls to the customers that the self you scanner are closing in a 10 minutes, so i latterly ran to avoid paying it to a cashier. I scanned it, bought it and walked out the door. Talking to myself, "Well this is it, Jeff. You got and there is no way in hell going back if you had to send it back."

I Felt a lot better when i got my first one and the shirt a few weeks later. My confidence is stronger then ever before and love to show it off.

I neither a show off or a reclusive, but I got my merch like if I were getting some cantaloupes, goin' to section, getting what I want, goin' to cashier, kick dough exchange, leaving shop with a bag and a smile. Not that hard.

Man when I read these stories it's seems so difficult & awkward for some - I'd just walk in an buy it.

Heck, when I was in Toys R Us here the UK I was asking the staff is they had any more of the toys other then on display lol
    They didn't tho :(

Hah. I walk in wearing pony shirts, spend a few minutes looking for the best quality one, look a little to see if they have anything new, then go check out. No big deal, just ponies.

Thumbnail is too small. Anyways it was real interesting to read your story on how you got your first pony toys.

I wonder how many times they've seen bronies buy the toys over at the shop. Well at least you got your first toys!

Mine were customs, but I still want to get the mane 6. (Preferably the molded ones if I can find them.)

Must...get...molded toys before Pixel gets them.

    Buying ponies, Like a Boss.

I still need to go to a store and see what they have to sell, now I feel like getting the molded ones first if I can find them, before brushables.

...or I can ask my friend to commission me some customs...for like 5x the price which I don't care + I like her quality. :derpe:
