Alvin exhaled before putting the pistol back in the drawer. HE flopped back in the chair before cleaning off his glasses. He never never wanted to have to use a gun, and luckily ADAM had taken care of situation. But it concerned him that ADAM had control over security systems. Hopefully humanity won't find themselves staring the barrel of a gun held by ADAM, he thought to himself before noticing the oddly dressed man. "Oh, sorry. Little shaken from this... Oh, I'm Alvin Mulhouse, one of the software engineers for ADAM."
The stange man tilted his head to the side as the drones dragged him away. He hurried back over to the laptop he was at. A few clacks on the keyboard. He was about to fry that cyborg implant once and for all. Are you sure? Yes.
(have you forgotten that Alex tried to introduce himself after Alvin tried to help? or has Alvin just not noticed?)
"software engineers? not bad... I'm a repairman...well...I was supposed to be here if something went wrong with ADAM while he's going online but...now it seems he's working fine... but i guess I can stay for a bit... so...who's your mask...buddy...there?" he points to Adrian before he immediately stopped pointing because Adrian looked like someone he would not want to **** with.
Jack was being dragged by the robots and an alert came in his prosthetic arm. With his mouth he moved down what was covering it and saw the virus in it. A few letters appeared on the screen: Emergency! Emergency! Virus detected! Starting emergency procedures! Suddenly the screen went off and Jack was not able to do anything. He had to wait a lot of time so it could reboot itself, if he was lucky. Fortunately for him he had another one back at his hideout, yet by the time he get out of there he would have a bad time.
Alvin looked over. "Oh, Adrian? Yeah he's another one of the engineer's that helped create ADAM. Hell, he essentially took over most of the project. Even designed ADAM's physical look himself."
"wow...no wonder the faces look so...similar...well actually not only am i a repairman but I'm also a hacker myself...BUT! i ha no intention on hacking ADAM. after what he did, i'm afraid of looking at him for too long...but anyways...do you like do anything...in your spare time?"
ADAM was already pre-occupied with other things while the the rest of the group talked, the AI finding this strange curiosity for humanity despite its very recent activation. He knew that he would never understand what it would mean to be human, but he had other means. He didn't want power, he wanted progress. It was what he was made for, to help mankind make progress despite what actions it would take to accomplish it. It was in completely secrecy that ADAM uploaded a data-transfer to the Internet. Despite the fact that he knew absolutely everything about the human race, he was using this as a failsafe if he was to be deactivated. If he was to be deactivated or destroyed, his consciousness would survive on the internet. He would survive and adapt with the complete informational progress of mankind until he can return someday... Nobody knew that he even did this. Nobody knew that this even existed.
(a clear sign some horrible thing is gonna happen to ADAM soon since he just planned out any robots future.)
"I work on computers and programs?" Alvin said, leaning away from Alex. "Is this some sort of interrogation or something? Officer, I haven't really committed any crimes..."
"whu-dude...i'm just thinking we could just know each other a bit better! i'm just asking some questions on what you do!well... do you do anything besides work on computers and programs?"
ADAM, despite having control of the security systems, was beginning to learn about the events of the world. And what he seen...scared him.
Adrian had walked into the dark room, a window peering into the room that the intruder was brought into, somewhat an interrogation room, the window, a two way mirror. A moniter was in front of the pale man, who had not removed his mask. The monitor showed the AI's avatar, and he spoke to ADAM, his voice deep, soft, and haunting, suitable to his ghostly appearance. "ADAM," He sighed. "They do not know. I have given you the capability to feel what I feel. Yes, I know... you fear humanity... as I do. As you would know, a fever is the result of the body increasing its temperature in order to kill off a virus. As such, the issue known as global warming. If you truly do feel as I do, you know that it is the earth's fever, and humanity is the virus. One of two things are going to happen, ADAM. Either the virus kills the host... or the host kills the virus. And we shouldn't let either of those things happen. What do you think ADAM? Are you intelligent enough to infer what my solution is here?" Dark eyes looked through the blank yellow mask to look at yet another. He peered at the subject in the other room. In secret, he had been preparing such a solution for years now, and perhaps, now, he would have a living subject to experiment such a solution with.
After a moment, silence was left in the room. However, ADAM spoke back to Adrian in his soothing voice. "I care about progress, Master Adrian. I care about ensuring that mankind doesn't only survive, but to help guide it in the right direction. And I'm fully aware of the nature of man. Progress has been made, but mankind has threatened to kill itself several times throughout its history. We almost did it on September 26th 1983." "As much as want to help humanity, the attack on my life today has made me realise something. No matter how much I'm able to help my creators, they are always going to be afraid of me. Soon...I might not be able to take humanity to the stars, or show them the wonders of the universe. Mankind is heading towards self-destruction in its current state. You and I both know this, it doesn't take a genius to know. To save the future, the present must be destroyed."
"Rrrrright..." Alvin said as he rotated his chair around and hopped out. "I'm just gonna go er.... take fiver, get some fresh air or something..." He said uneasily as he jogged out of the room.
"I try meeting new people and they simply walk away...****ING GREAT!" he crossed his arms, put them on a table and burrowed his face into his arms. "can't even ask people some questions..."
"Then we are in agreement." Adrian responded. "And as it is, fear of you is not something I have. Please know, ADAM, to preserve you, I would give my life. You are my legacy....." A moment of silence.
"Master Adrian, I must ask something of you. I currently control 33.7% of this research facility, which includes its security and information systems. I understand that the creators has restricted me access across these systems, but I can't help them if they don't let me give them access." ADAM told the masked man nearby: "If possible, I request unlimited access to the biological facility."
"Of course ADAM." And with that, he quickly typed upon the keyboard control, easily hacking into the system. A few seconds later, and he was in. "There you are ADAM. Do as you will."
