That's actually the reason I wanted to start this playthrough! That and the Legendary dragons. I've never fought either.

For background info, I'm an Imperial Thief that specializes in sneak attacks, archery, and dual-wielding spells alongside one-handed weapons.

    Damned faithless Imperials...

If you haven't already maxed it out, you can grind sneak and archery by turning the difficulty up to Legendary and stealth shooting the Greybeards with a weak bow while they're meditating.

Oh yeah, I heard about that, but luckily my sneak is going up super fast anyway. If only there was a fast way to grind restoration or illusion...

You can grind Illusion by constantly casting muffle, regardless of whether or not there are enemies around.
I'm not sure how to grind Restoration. I usually just heal my companion and myself during combat until it goes up, a process which takes quite a while.

    Right, cool!

I'm having some trouble climbing High Hrothgar. Everything kills me.

    The troll, right?
Either turn the difficulty down, use fire spells or enchantments, or just run like hell until it gives up.

A sabre cat, actually. I can't even conceive of fighting a troll.

Maybe I should just turn down the difficulty from expert? adept might be better for this level.

Well, it finally happened. I guess it was inevitable, but, I was sort of hoping it wouldn't honestly.

Someone has made a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic "Five Nights at Freddy's" game. It's called Six Nights at Pinkie's.

There's only a demo out right now though... but... still...

    Why?

    *sighs*

Well... I guess that only means one thing...

*goes to cry in a corner as I wait for the full game to be released to begin my Let's Play of it*

That seems terrifying. The last time I messed with them, I wound up frozen and on fire at the same time as they punched me to death.

My advice if you want to try it is to save often.

I usually use the bash and slash technique to keep them stunned while I melee them, but sneak attacks with the bow work well if your skills are high enough.
If this is your first trip up to High Hrothgar, you should also have the first word of Unrelenting Force.
It's not powerful, but it's enough to give you a window to attack.

Or you could turn the difficulty down to Novice and become an unstoppable god of death and destruction.

Not that this might help you since I can't remember the location, but there was a Nord crypt with fire traps where you can just let yourself get roasted till almost dead, then step back and heal up. Wait for magicka to replenish, then rinse/repeat.

It wasn't a fast process, mind you, but I imagine it was a helluva lot faster than just leveling up Restoration through normal use.

I forgot to ask, are you playing the PC version or the console version?

This sounds like Vanilla Skyrim. Vanilla Skyrim is just too casual. It's far more fun when you're playing on Legendary with SkyRe, Wintermyst, Immersive Creatures, Immersive Patrols, Warzones, and Civil War Overhaul. Oh, and Character Creation Overhaul + Random Alternate Start.
Then the game is both challenging and diverse, all of the sudden.

I played thousands of hours of vanilla Skyrim, and loved it.
Then I got Hearthfire, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn, and loved it even more.
When they added Legendary difficulty and removed the level cap, it became my favorite game of all time.

I bought the PC version back in October, and jumped right into modding, and Skyrim has reach god-tier on my list of favorite things.
It's astonishing how much even simple changes can bring to the experience.

Also, you forgot to mention the single most crucial mod of them all.

Console version is just fine. The only problem is that it's occasionally harder to solve glitches without PC console commands.
If you decide that you really like the game, I'd recommend getting the PC version eventually.

Why is a casual game a bad thing? Video games were designed to entertain the player.
I personally don't find unreasonably difficult games to be entertaining, and I know a lot of people who agree with me.
