Anyway... I don't know honestly. It seemed like a lot of people left the fandom/show because this happened as a lot of people felt it would make her OP or become "immortal" and outlive all of her friends.

So maybe that wouldn't have happened?

I'm not about to leave the fandom over it, but that does concern me. Not really sure how they're going to deal with that, aside from making them all Alicorns, which would be ridiculous.

 

Then she's still be a unicorn, however I honestly like alicorn Princess Twilight Sparkle better than unicorn Twilight Sparkle so yeah there you go.

 

Ridiculous yes, but sadly also the most likely path as the series continues. Eventually there will be a season where each earn their, horn, wings or both. I don't like the idea of Alicorn Rainbow Dash. Could be funny seeing Pinkie Pie with magic.

 

I do sometimes wonder if they have an exit strategy for this series, or whether they just plan to keep going until it becomes a winged/horned/super-rainbow-powered monstrosity that no-one wants to watch any more. Not sure they will Alicornify the mane six though, Twi has always been more main than the others. :derpe:
And Pinkie already has magic! Freaky Earth Pony magic that even Twilight can't explain!

I'll be brutally honest here. I overreacted to it at first, but after I watched S4, I liked alicorn Twilight Sparkle more then unicorn Twilight Sparkle as well.

Again, just me though.

Celestia was training Twilight to become an alicorn.

It was Twilight's destiny to become an alicorn.

 

There is one major flaw in this theory. How did Celestia know that it was Twilight destiny to become an alicorn? Unless she is able to see into the future there is no way that Celestia would have know that Twilight would have become the princess of friendship.

 

Celestia didn't need to know it was Twilight's destiny to become a Princess, she may have just realised there was a need for another Princess and started grooming Twilight as a likely candidate.

 

As she did Sunset Shimmer before her. Sadly Sunset Shimmer wasn't up for the task.

 

Well I guess she would have never got the castle which will change some things in the next series
