Maya Heartstrings Species: Pegasus Gender: Female Age: 1000+ Intelligence: Hyper-intelligent Appearence: Height: 4'2" Weight: 175 lbs Residence: Between Canterlot and the Crystal Empire. Sexuality: Bisexual Relationship: Married to Skydust Personality: Kind. Chill demeanor. Friendly. Adventurous. Open-minded. Has a badass side, when necessary. Abilities: Expert alchemist, knows how to mix something for pretty much any effect you need (Memorized recipes include 62 ways to make a healing potion, 7 poison joke cures, 12 invisibility potions, hundreds of baths that all have different effects, 32 explosive mixtures, etc.). Very strong. Very quick on her hooves. Downfalls: Slow flyer. Unable to swim. Often forgives too easily. Protective to a fault over her husband. Bio: Maya, originally a resident of Canterlot, was born into an upper-class family. Not content with the prospect of living a life where she only ever looked pretty, had a lot of money, married a stallion with a lot of money, made foals with a lot of money, and looked down on poor ponies and undesirable races, she rebelled against her family. She befriended the bat ponies living in the slums, played outside when her family wasn’t looking, refused to dress up in prissy clothes, and, her favorite thing, practiced alchemy, an art that was considered arcane at the time. She was an expert by the time she was in her late teens, obsessed with her potion-making. At seventeen, already disowned and mistreated by her family, she ran away, disappearing from Canterlot into the night, the belongings she cared to keep packed away into two average saddlebags. She would be a travelling potions dealer until she either passed due to old age, or was caught and arrested. Along the road leading away from her home city, she stumbled across her now-husband Skydust, injured, horn cracked, and pinned underneath a large tree. After helping the then-stranger escape the tree, she decided to travel along with the fellow wanderer. In due time, they got to know each other, and fell deeply in love. They discovered that they had both been victims of grave injustices. They understood they could not let the circumstances that troubled them so terribly be allowed to happen to anyone else, at least if they could help in. Maya had a new purpose. Her new love by her side, she would save people. Not just ponies, but griffons, diamond dogs, even the occasional changeling. Maya had her potions and uncanny strength, and Skydust had his unique alicorn magic. Beat down a hardcore criminal here, restore harmony to a community there, help build homeless shelters, dismantle and replace a bad local government, and other acts of philanthropy. With a bit of luck, they survived this path long enough to develop skills necessary to keep going. Along the way, Maya managed to develop an anti-aging potion, something necessary for her to live out a life with her alicorn lover. More recently, i.e. within the past few decades, they gained three close companions that would turn out to be closer to them than they ever imagined. They tamed and befriended Azrael, a pony who was originally brought back from the dead for the sole purpose of putting them down. Asmodeus stumbled across them because that’s just what he does, and he stayed with the duo simply because they were kind to him. Finally, after Maya saved Raven, a little filly at the time, from a monster that killed the bat’s parents, she and Dusty agreed to adopt her, as she had nowhere else to go. This entire time, Maya never stopped improving her alchemy. Easily one of the best in Equestria, she can make bombs, healing potions, cures, poisons, mutations, and anything in between. Presently, Maya and her husband own a house and some land somewhere along the way between Canterlot and the Crystal Empire, simply for the sake of stability for Raven, and making it easier for their friends to find them. May or may not be retired from active philanthropy, depending on the roleplay. Random facts: -Uses alchemy to cheat aging. -Solid bones. Though she can be agile on-hoof, they keep her from flying fast. -Once spoke in an Octavia-like accent, but spent years working it away so she sounded more approachable. -Open relationship with her husband. Meta: -Not Tree Hugger. I actually came up with her concept over a year before TH debuted. Theme song: Elan -Fits her positive outlook, unorthodox life, and love for new experiences. Though her positive outlook, especially in her old line of work, does not negate the need for... Fight music: The Game - She's been around longer than you have. If she has to take you on, will she throw a potion at you, sneak up behind you, distract you, roll up with a thunder cloud, or just buck you in the head? She pretty much knows the best approach to any threat.
Skydust (or Dusty) Species: Alicorn Gender: Male Age: 1000+ Intelligence: Hyper-intelligent Appearance: Spoiler: Intense dust-porting Weight: 85 lbs. Residence: Alongside Maya Sexuality: Pansexual Relationship: Married to Maya Personality: Much like Maya, but more introverted. On the weird side, though nowhere near the level of weirdness Asmodeus inhabits. Abilities (aside from obvious basic magic and flight): Able to turn into a cloud of dust and manifest elsewhere (dust-porting). Can magically separate mixtures and compounds into more basic substances. Strong magical barriers. Can prod around in your mind, and if you're not paying attention, you won't even notice. Healing. Downfalls: No attack spells. Physically weak. Manages to get himself hurt constantly. Habit of poking into minds without permission, creating awkward situations. His weirdness, unintentional as this may be, can put ponies off. Bio: Originally raised by a Kallblod family, much of Skydust's origin is unknown. What is known is that he was serving time in the dungeon, and he was recently escaped when he was pinned under that tree. Since then, he's been with his lifelong lover, Maya Heartstrings, saving ponies, learning, and seeing new places. Random facts: -Plays dirty to make up for lack of anything passable as physique. Turn your back during any fight to focus on Maya, expect a possible low blow. -So used to being roughed up that no matter how much damage he takes in a battle, if he isn't unconscious, he'll find a way back to his hooves to assist his wife. -Open relationship with Maya. Theme song: Last Ride of the Day - Similar to Maya. Despite his demeanor, on the inside, they are truly kindred spirits.

Azrael "The Dead Pony," "Dead Horse" Species: Unicorn/Earth Pony hybrid, originally Earth Pony Gender: Male Age: 67 Intelligence: Gifted Appearance: Note: Occasionally wearing this jacket. This serves as light armor, a possible means of intimidation, and he will occasionally weaponize the spikes. He also enjoys the look. Weight: 400 lbs Residence: Two houses; one in the Everfree, and one near Maya and Skydust's property Sexuality: "I know you see the flag in my unflattering reference." Personality: Nice to those close to him; ruthless towards foes; normally quiet; a little arrogant; known to have a temper; takes on a few ideas humans would consider LaVeyan. Abilities: Extremely strong; book-smart. Skilled in destruction-based magic. Can see souls/spirits, and use this to track ponies. Blackout teleportation: turns an entire area black for a split second, then reappears elsewhere. Can rip souls from badly beaten foes, storing them in his burial urn, like fuel for his magic. Surprisingly, very good at painting and sewing. Downfalls: Somewhat slow, thanks to sheer size. Aggressive. Tendency to let his anger get the better of him. Absolutely needs souls to fuel any magic; if he's out, he's dry. Bio: As a mortal, he was a professional fighter, using his sheer strength and uncanny level of skill to brutalize his opponents. After an accident in the ring, Azrael passed away at 35. Old enough to leave a lasting impact in the world of professional fighting, but far too young to have been near the end of his career otherwise. A criminal necromancer, one who was screwed over by Maya and Dusty before, fished his soul out of the underworld, constructing him a new body, one with a horn, and filling his mind with hatred for the old couple. After being trained in the ways of necromancy and destruction magic, Azrael was sent out to hunt down Maya and Dusty, tasked with killing them. He would spend several years making attempts on their lives before he was finally beaten down enough for the necromancer's curse to be removed. Given that it would be very difficult to go back into Equestrian fighting with his new body, and grateful to the two who had spared him after years of brutality, he decided to stick around, befriending them, even becoming close to family friend Asmodeus and their adopted daughter, Raven. Taking active part in the couple's ongoing career of unconventional good deeds, he may show up when they need some extra muscle on a job. Random facts: -stores captured souls in a burial urn he always keeps nearby, using them to fuel his own power -said urn also contains the ashes of his mortal body; he is extremely protective of this urn, rarely even keeping it non-hidden -blood is formaldehyde -without proper reparations, usually preformed via magic, his body will begin to decompose after about a year -at one point, when his soul was placed in a regular body, said body began to rot from within -has a pet vulture named Cain -knows Equestrian jiu-jitsu, a martial art I totally made up; lots of grapples that make up for the fact that he can't be a fast striker -book smart -given an army, utilizes brute force and strength in numbers as a strategy -loves a good fight -can enter a rampaging state where everything becomes a target for a beating; hard to talk down in this state, even harder to subdue Meta: -Azrael is believed by some to be the archangel of death, hence me picking this name. Raven Race: Bat Pony Gender: Female Age: 17 Intelligence: Gifted Appearance: Spoiler: Alternate Manestyle Cred: Raven Credit: @Toaster Repair Pony Sexuality: Homosexual Residence: Wherever there is a soft place to sleep Occupation: Aspiring musician Personality: Spunky; friendly; extroverted; upbeat; curious; strong, mostly independent bat mare. Abilities: Insane guitar skills, great vocals, and varried, exceptional lyrics. Fast flier. Small magical ability, result of a tendency to learn things she shouldn't. Downfalls: Not very physically strong. Being young, not always the best at properly channelling negative emotions. Some say she pushes herself too hard working on music. Sudden adrenaline cravings can cause her to intentionally put herself in dangerous situations. Bio: Her parents were killed by a crazed pony seven years back. She was saved by Maya, who happened to be passing by, heard the commotion, and found and ended the killer. After that, Maya and Dusty took her in as their own child. She was resentful of them for the first year, even downright hateful. In time, though, Raven grew to love them like a set of actual parents. Somewhere along the line, she picked up a guitar, one she still has to this day, and picked up on it quick. From then on, music was her passion. She had always been a fan of metal, so naturally, she likes to play metal. Maya tends to let her do what she wants nowadays, so long as she lets her know where she's off to, and she isn't doing anything too stupid. Trauma from almost being murdered managed to trigger a lust for danger, morphing her into something of an adrenaline junkie. Much to her own disappointment in herself, her cutie mark came in while she was diving from an airship with her wings taped down, rather than playing music. Random facts: -Listens almost exclusively to rock and metal -Has a strange habit of finding information she shouldn't -Speaks in a light African-American-esque accent, picked up by her biological mother Theme song: Fuel - Between the crazy stunts and the metal music, she sure does love to get her heart pounding. Bio: Born into the Andalusian chapter of his guild, Navaja learned fighting techniques from all over Equus from a very young age. He was taught to believe that he was cleansing the world of evil when he accepted a contract. After only a few missions, Navaja became renowned for his skills and ability to take charge of a situation. He was sent to the heart of Equestria, and put in charge of training new blood, and leading multi-assassin missions. Navaja has been all over Equestria, and indeed, all over Equus itself, and as such, carries a lot of knowledge about the world, and customs of other species.
