Things I got out of Episode 3 of Season 2: 1. New opening theme. It rocked. 2. Dinky Hooves featured as a background pony!!!!! I flipped when I saw her. 3. Macintosh loves dolls. Should've known. 4. The Mane Six will write to the Princess together from now on. Sweet! 5. Bon-Bon had a new line. 6. Carrot Top and Colgate.... <3 <3 <3 7. Rainbow Dash had a Atomic Rainboom! 8. Cherilee took quite a beating when all the ponies went after the doll.... 9. Princess Celestia looked really angry towards the end.
I'm telling you, Equestria has PMDs! (Ponies of Mass Destruction) We have to put troops in! DO WANT DEUS. EX. PONYTA. How much you wanna bet Big Macintosh is putting that doll in his secret shrine to Twilight? Let the shipping begin!
I don't want to know how popular SmartyMac will be... Anyways, Atomic/Nuclear Sonic Rainboom woohoo. :derpe: ...and a partially scene of TwiDash.
... wow. I don't really know what I just saw there. I had to stop at multiple times just to make sure that I was still watching a real episode and not just a crazy (if well animated) fanmade parody. Definitely not my favorite episode.
Here's a 720p episode without commercials
Heh! I can see where you're coming from, it was pretty intense, but personally I found it one of the funniest episodes yet! I actually thought the writing was quite clever. Yes they took Twilight's character to extremes but it was all based on previously established traits. I think this is a case in point as Twilight has already been shown to have a tendency to completely lose the plot when anything that has the potential to harm her relationship with the Princess is concerned. The pacing of the episode and the way it progressively built up the intensity (and insanity ...) was superb. Big Mac and the doll was adorable and Spike was great as ever. It's always nice to see Derpy and I'm sure that was a Cupcakes refernce near the start (I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing... ) Pretty far out stuff. But awesome.
Wow, this episode was crazy. It's out there with episode 15, and I like it . I wonder which crazy pony was most scary, Twilight here or Pinkie Pie in Party of One, or maybe Fluttershy in the season 1 finale? . In my book, probably Pinkie Pie (Omg, cupcakes, just read it, poor Dash , I am thankful that is not the Pinkie in the show.) Speaking of that, when Spike said "cupcakes", I half-expected him to follow with "Hey, where is Rainbow Dash?" Of course followed by Rainbow Dash crashing through the roof and saying, "I am here, where did you expect me to be? In the cupcakes? They maybe called rainbow cupcakes, but for Celestia's sake, that does not mean I am in them." :Trollestia: Also, Fluttershy wrestling a bear is awsome, so is Rainbow Dash blowing up a barn .
I'll admit, I was a tiny bit worried that season 2 wasn't going to live up to the expectations, but if things keep going like this, I can soundly put those fears to rest. This episode was great. I did not see one flat joke in that entire episode, the plot was original, and the animation...do I even need to say anything about the animation? Also, the Big Macintosh gag made this episode for me. Spike moving the background from behind Twilight was really clever, and good Lord Twilight's insanity faces; I can practically SMELL the image macros from here. Beautiful episode filled with perfectly controlled insanity. Well done, MLP, well done. Here's to the rest of season 2!
Uh....Zephyr (Otirrob) has pointed something interesting out to me. It seems that Ms. Foster (from Faust's other show, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends) is in the train during the intro....look and see for yourself...
Yup, a black and white Ms. Foster is in the train. Either that or it's a photoshop, I haven't seen her in the actual intro yet, just a screencap. Anyway, Derpy is the the same train, window right above Ms. Foster.
No, she's actually there. I just checked the episode, and there she is in all her glory right in the train car. This is really cool, maybe if we keep our eyes peeled we can find a Power Puff Girls reference somewhere.
Well, I just finished watching this episode, and I thought it was really good. It made me laugh a lot. I saw a bit of myself in Twilight. Not so much about tardiness, but just how she was making a big deal out of nothing. I can do that sometimes, depending on what it is. Although I've liked Spike all along, I have even more respect for him as a character. He was clearly the most level-headed here. Also, Twilight's face... the one she had when she snapped, looked pretty freaky, hehe. The "want-it, need-it" spell was a funny idea and I think Big Mac's "eenope" was also funny. As well as when he ran off with the doll at the end. I was shocked at first when I saw Fluttershy. I like how they made it seem she was beating up that bear, but then it turned out she was only trying to make him feel better. When I saw that I was like, "Oh my God! Fluttershy?! No way!" and then I was, "Awww." I was wondering if Pinkie Pie would've been the one with an actual problem since none of the other ponies had one, but I was wrong about that. Believe it or not, the way Twilight was acting, minus the crazy part, made me reflect on this community a bit. It made me think about how many of us try to help others with their problems, except our motivations are much different than Twilight's. I thought for a moment, "Is this Everypony?" I think Celestia's behavior was fine. Twilight didn't deserve any punishment. She is clearly a good student, and I'm quite pleased with how Celestia handled that at the end. I even agree with the lesson learned, but I have some personal reasons for that. I've had an experience or two in the not-so-distant past that make me believe that this is a valuable lesson to be learned. That is to take everyone's problems seriously, even if they don't appear to be big problems. Also, to not make small issues into a really big ones. These are things I already knew, but despite this, it's good to be reminded of them from time to time.
So does this mean each pony will have to write a letter now? Maybe now each pony will have a solo episode where they learn their own lessons alone? (Full ep. review coming later.)
I was really impressed with this episode. I think Twilight is creeping up on my list of favourite ponies. I've only seen the episode so far while wasted. I'm watching it again now sober. I will form a proper opinion after that.
