Well, currently my OC (the ponification of me) has no cutie mark. Blank Flank. And a 35 year old Blank Flank at that.
I know that nopony can really tell me what my cutie mark should be, so this is meant as a discussion to help me formulate my thoughts in a way that will let me discover what my mark should be.

    A little about me:

Computer nerd (Anypony here have SYS 49152 burned in to their brains?)
Trekkie (Yes, girls are allowed to be Trekkies!)
    Post op lesbian transwoman
    Vegan

I did have a rather strong epiphany a few days ago where I realized that my purpose in existence is to always be able to take the stale old me and throw it away to be reborn anew. I have done this many times, when I get worn out from being "the old Katie" it is time to trade in myself for a new "me". My gender transition was me throwing out the tired and over used lie of being a "guy". Something I had to invent during high school to prevent from being bullied too much. I let me self shine after throwing out the "fake me". Also, going vegan, I had been lying to myself that animals are not "like us" enough to really matter. Had to throw that mode of being out too. I am always looking for ways to try to be a better being, and am not afraid to jump back to square one if need be.

So, everypony, any ideas what my mark should be? Any questions you feel might help me find my true self?

    Also, this is my OC/me:

Note, the dark blue in the mane/tail was supposed to be midnight blue, it just doesn't look like it on every screen I have viewed this on. And yes, it is just a recoloring of the wet mane look for vinyl scratch. Forgot which artist did those on deviantart. Also, the name is Midnight Lightning.

I was thinking of this one:

Would that work? If you don't like it, it's fine with me.

Hmm, I like the blue in the background. Maybe something like that but with a phoenix instead of the crescent moons? That has got me thinking...

I don't know if the MacOS/iOS loading icon would be a good match. Too much "Earth", not enough Equestria...

Cutie marks are often not as literal as you'd think them to be, and often aren't the only aspect to someone. I consider myself a gamer, comedian, and I'm an Eagle Scout, but I chose as my cutie-mark a thought bubble, because my talent is simply dreaming and thinking despite all these other prevailing aspects of myself. You will probably decide on a cutie-mark now, and then in a couple months realize it's not accurate, and change to another (especially with how you described yourself as changing yourself often.)

I recommend looking past what you enjoy, and look at what you're good at doing. And I mean everything you're good at doing, even if it seems odd (like partying.) then work from there and see what you find yourself liking. And it's perfectly fine to change it later. This is your character, it may change as your tastes change. You may find yourself excelling at something, and want to change it to that. Always alright.

There is no wrong choice here.
