"What's up, Gulpy McGulperson?" Discord asked the strange white pony, sticking his head around the kitchen door.
"Ah, uhm, not..nothing," Frozen said nervously, "You're Discord, are you not?" Frozen felt himself calm down a bit. He had always counted discord as a bit of an inspiration. After all, if he could be redeemed, there was surely hope for a wayward windigo.
"I am he," Discord admitted, rounding the corner fully, still mixing his batter. "And you are?" he inquired, looking the new arrival up and down.
"I am called Frozen Heart," he said, "But you may call me Frozen." He bowed his head slightly, "Honored to meet you."
Discord chuckled, "Well that's new; I can see why Celestia enjoys this so." "So tell me Frozen, what brings you here?" he inquired. He could tell there was something... different about this pony; the coldness he was giving off was almost palpable at this distance.
"Solitude," he said, "Or so I had hoped. There are matters of great concern to me now, such that I fear may shorten my stay here, depending upon the outcome."
Darky went back to his room and slowly opened the door. Luna was still in the bed, sleeping. He left the cloche with the salad in a table and went into the bed. Luna was still hugging the pillow, so he switched himself with it and snuggled her hug. "It's about time you came back." Luna said smiling. "You knew I left?" He asked her. "Yes." she said, but then she felt something... she felt the windigo in the house. First Discord and now a Windigo. She was sure he also noticed her, so she had to be careful on what she did.
"Oh?" Discord pondered a moment. "Darky's not that repulsive is he? I admit he's a little... Alicorny for my tastes, but still," He pondered some more, then grinned crookedly, "Unless it's his company that's got you so unsettled?"
Rosy headed up the stairs to her room, and turned the key in the lock to open the door. The thud that accompanied the action brought a sigh of relief, and Rosy placed her bags down, and sat in the corner of the room, gazing at the space in front of her.
"The princess? Well.." Frozen trailed off. This sherade was getting more and more difficult to maintain.
Lio picked up on that comment. "So long as you don't start the trouble then you can stay as long as you like, and pay rent. The trouble starter will be the one who has to leave. You can be an emotional vampire who has to occasionally stir up sadness and as long as you don't do anything to physically harm anypony else I won't kick you out. I guess go overboard and cause deep emotional trauma, then we'll have words. If you're a real vampire, the so long a you don't feed on the residents or the towns people you'll be fine. The are more than enough dangerous lifeforms in the forest to feed off of. Not as bad as Everfree, but we have a few monsters."
The bluntness of the caretaker caught Frozen off guard, but he quickly regained his composure. "I wouldn't dream of it," he said, "I don't feed on ponies, if it can be helped.. Tell me, how could you possibly know what I am?"
"Wait? You are a vampire? I was just rattling off things that might worry a person, er pony off the top of my head. I mean we have Discord here, it wouldn't surprise me if you were a vampire, but I didn't think you were one."
Luna gut up and noticed what Darky brought her. She went to see what it was and noticed the salad he made for her. "I hope you like it." He said to her. Luna smiled and started eating it. The windigo could wait until she finished eating.
Frozen closed his eyes and let out a long and heavy sigh. "Yes," he said, with a twinge of sadness, "I am a Windigo."
"Hmm, not sure I'm familiar with Windigos," mused Discord "Still, I'm not really one to judge..." he added, somewhat sheepishly.
"I suppose you could say you have been a bit of an inspiration to me," Frozen said, "You were able to change your ways; I hope someday I may as well."
"Right, I'm not too familar with the local zoology. What's a Windigo? I'm guessing it's not like a Wendigo. Er, a Wendigo W,e,n,d,i,g,o is a curse brought upon a person who consumes human flesh. They become mindless beast who only desire more flesh. You don't seem remotely mindless to me." And he just divulged information about his native dimension and didn't even try to hide it.... Yep Usagi got that from him too apparently. Curse him and his inability to not divulge too much information. In his natural body he could dispell a Wendigo's curse with but a touch, not something he could do with the remote body. Of course was Frozen cursed or was he naturally a Windigo?
