They're going to make an Ant-Man movie? Is Wasp going to be in it, because I didn't see her in the trailer.
Fantastic Four - The Thing looks rocky and inorganic. A massive improvement from the foam rubber abomination from the older movies. I'm a little concerned about Johnny Storm being black now. Changing the race of an established character rarely goes well. I'm even more concerned that Susan Storm is still white. Does this mean they're no longer siblings? Age of Ultron - I'm excited for this one. The Hulkbuster armor looks amazing, and Ultron is recognizable without being cartoonish. I'm curious to see what his origin will be in the movie. I read a while back that Hank Pym isn't his creator this time around. Ant Man - Uh... who the hell is this Scott dude?
They're going with the Scott Lang Ant Man, rather than Pym. I believe Pym is a character within a movie (sort of a nod to the original history, much like Thor had the nod to Donald Blake) but I believe Marvel are sensibly avoiding the character with severe mental health issues (such as schizophrenia) and a history of beating his wife in favour of the single father who potentially opens up windows for a Young Avengers spin off (if Cassie is in the movie). For those wondering, Scott Lang was a small time thief who ended up reforming and becoming a hero. He originally stole to support his family and pretty much ended up saving his daughter through stealing the Ant Man tech (by saving the doctor who was able to help his daughter after discovering she was being held hostage.) He's also one of the Avengers the Scarlet Witch killed when she snapped and went berserk - leading to the whole Disassembled storyline, the formation of the Young Avengers, House of M, Civil War, Secret Invasion, Dark Avengers and finally Siege. It was a long and complicated storyline that stemmed from that. The other Avengers killed by the Witch when she went bat-guano loco were Vision (through a mind controlled She Hulk) and Hawkeye (Heroic sacrifice).
And to give further answers: -Hank Pym is in the "Ant-Man" movie, played by Michael Douglas. In the movie, he retired himself from the Ant-Man role after the 60s ended. This movie wil focus on Scott Lang as Ant-Man, with Hank playing the mentor role. -Yes, Cassie Lang is in "Ant-Man", played by Abby Ryder Forston. -In the "Ant-Man" movie, Janet Van Dyne is dead by the time the movie starts. The movie instead has the daughter of Hank and Janet, Hope Pym, played by Evangeline Lilly. -In "Avengers: Age of Ultron", it's Tony Stark who builds Ultron as a means to better protect the world because of his growing mistrust of superheroes. Said mistrust will climax in next year's movie "Captain America: Civil War". -In "Fantastic Four", Dr. Franklin Storm is black, and Mary Storm is white. Hence, Susan is white and Johnny is black. So yes, they are still brothers.
Of course all three of them came back from the dead. Ironman rebuilt Vision, Cassie (who's the little girl in the trailer) save her dad through time travel, and I don't know how Hawkeye came back. Also I could be wrong, but it does in deed look like Janet Van Dam(sp) is in the trailer, although I doubt she'll be the Wasp.
Not quite correct... The current Vision is an AI 'backup' program in Iron LAd (young Kang the Conquerer)'s armour. Scott Lang was brought back with some time travel and Chaos magic shenanigans - that very same arc saw Cassie killed after going toe to toe with Doom. Hawkeye was brought back by the Scarlet Witch during the whole House of M debacle. I think the less mentioned about Hank Pym's problems the better for Marvel. Keep him as a retired hero, let him keep the mentor role but keep him as a background nod if anything. Same with Janet. Far too many complications with that pair regardless of whether it's the 616 or Ultimate universe.
I think that Age of Ultron appears to be hinting more at Iron Man-Cap and Widow-Hulk than Thor. So far the trailers seem to have very little space for Hawkeye and Thor. Sure, Thor's the team powerhouse...but I think we're seeing more a build up for Civil War (The Iron Man - Cap command clashes, The Cap-Widow-Hulk triangle).
I think you missed some things Vision Jr. was killed by Ironlad in the Children's Crusade he stopped Ironlad from taking Cassie's body to try and resurrect it via time travel shenanigans. Later Ironman brought out the original Vision that he has supposedly been working for a while. Vision Jr, the one made from Ironlad's armor is still dead. Cassie is back though Doom brought her back during the Axis story-line. I was actually reading the Avengers titles when the Original Vision was brought back and I was picking up the Children's Crusades too.
Trailer #1: It could have been executed better. The pacing was very slow for what it was going to advertise but that was probably it's end game. That, and the music seemed to complement its message well. Trailer #2: Excited. Trailer #3: Should be really interesting where they take this however, little bit interested about this one. Don't like Ant-Man very much, but that costume design is really good
Bloody confusing. Apologies, haven't paid too much attention as my mind wanders all over the place. The fact they had a Vision in the works makes me cringe a little, sounds like really sloppy and lazy storytelling that does. Cassie being brought back is nice, but sort of really dampens her character as well as that of Scott Lang by undoing all she did. Will have to pick up Axis at some point, though not too fond of it as the whole AvX thing with everything that spilled out afterwards was more than a bit awkward for everyone.
So... what I'm getting here is that either they're step-siblings, or the producers have no idea how genetics work.
Axis was the most recent storyline, with Red Skull inhabiting a clone body of Professor X and becoming Red Onslaught. A vs X happened a few years ago. In Axis the big thing was Heroes getting their natures reversed. Doom became good and to undo his past sins he brought Cassie back. I can see why you might think that the Vision in the comics now is Vision Jr, with Vision mind restored because the Young Avengers make a comment about the Avengers repairing the second Vision but making him like the first. However, Vision Jr. and Vision have different designs and Vision Jr has more powers than Vision. Of course Marvel could have just been lazy and drew Jr. as the first and ignored the other powers, but Ironman's comment makes it easier to believe he was working on the first rather than the second.
Since we are on the subject, Vision is gonna be in "Avengers: Age of Ultron". In the movie, he is a superpowered android that houses the A.I. of J.A.R.V.I.S.
Are they just going to try and show as many heroes as possible into this film? Seriously, there's enough heroes as it is.
Loki, Heimdall, Erik Selvig, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, War Machine and the Falcon are also gonna be in "Avengers: Age of Ultron". And we get a flashback scene with Young Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). On the villain front, Baron Wolfgang von Strucker is returning, and this movie will introduce Ulysses Klaw in order to lead in to him being the main villain in the 2018 movie "Black Panther".
I believe Spider-Man was confirmed for Civil War and based on how well Marvel's TV shows go the Netflix shows for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist will probably see them brought in as well. Of course this would be awesome, especially if Marvel can wrangle back Wolverine for it as well... Because then we have the New Avengers team right there.
