John put up his rifle, followed suit by the rest of the Umbras before they regroup and headed south, sticking to the mountains. Fumentarii had reported unauthorized barricades being erected around the town along the main routes in and out, and a strange surge in population. It's been said Goodsprings was going to be the home of a Resistance force that would try to get NCR to assist in their fight. John had an idea of his own, they had fortified in a way that was more meant for a full scale frontal assault, not a small infiltration, and John wished to exploit that weakness... ***2 hours later*** The Umbras had split, one half taking the mountains to the South of Goodsprings, John's group coming in from Quarry Junction direction. John looked through a pair of binoculars, "Hm...Powder Gangers, looks to be old NCR soldiers, obvious refugees, mercs and escaped slaves. Yup, I would say they are forming a resistance...Fools gathering in such numbers...form the skirmish line, stay behind cover, and shot to kill or disable, I don't give a damn as long as they can't fight." the Umbras nodded and fanned out, back to the 5 yard spread, hiding behind rocks and other bits of cover, taking out their long-ranged rifles again, and began picking off those inside...
With almost all of South-West Vegas now under Legion control, Nero continued to advance south towards the Vault. The main force had seen plenty of action, especially the Legionaries that preferred blades over guns after they cut through the Fiend's defences like they were nothing. The Legion had only lost thirty soldiers throughout the battle, while the Fiends lost almost 80-90% of their total numbers, thousands and thousands of raiders being simply annihilated before the might of the bull. An hour later, the Centurions and Veterans were reunited with each other as they advanced towards Vault 3. The Fiends had lost enormous amounts of ground very quickly, something Damien knew was the Legion's biggest and also most lethal advantage. Learning from experience, he knew that the Legion was unparalleled at taking locations, even surpassing the NCR. However, the weakness about the old regime is keeping said locations. Under Edward, the further the Legion had expanded, the more vital it was to attack. However, this weakness has been completely removed once John took power. The Fiends, having nowhere else to go, remained in Vault 3 completely trapped. Damien stood at the front of the large number of Legionaries, all of them celebrating what they had accomplished. The battle was not over yet, but it felt like it was so very close to the end. The taste of victory lingering in the mouths of the Legion. "I want an encampment set up here. I will require the leadership and all soldiers under the command of Centurion Cato, Albus and Felix to remain behind here. Centurion Gallius and his century will be heading to the NCRCF to eliminate the Powder Gangers and Centurion Marcus will be eliminating all other hostilities in the area. For the remainder of you, I personally believe that you should take the rest of the day off, but report back at the first sign of trouble. You have fought well today, all of you. I cannot be more proud for your actions. You have pleased Caesar and all of Nova Roma. Remember, you are fighting to protect those who mean dear to you and you fight for Nova Roma and Caesar. For the Legion ! " The crowd of soldiers yelled a victory cry that echoed like thunder. With nearly all of Legion army being dismissed or following up with other tasks, Damien was left with 240 soldiers at his command. A camp was soon set up within the following afternoon, Damien inside a large tent alongside his three Centurion commanders discussing the fate of Fiends. All of them knew they were going to die, how they were going to die was their next move. Regardless of what they choose, the Fiends would be extinct by nightfall.
John strolled into Goodsprings, the town had been simply massacred by the Umbras, whose superior training and surprise swiftly ensured a quick, decisive victory. Among the dead were the NCR that had stayed behind to kill Legion on their own, notably the remains of the First Recon, who had been surprised and targeted first by the flanking attack. Not a single one who held a gun remained alive, with those that didn't who didn't resist already being being prepared for choosing. Sure, John didn't like the idea of enslaving others, but these were rebels, or at least people who tried to escape his rule. He decided he needed to think a bit, and found himself sitting in the saloon where he met Damien and the others..
Damien and his Three Centurion commanders walked inside the Prospector Saloon, avoiding some of the dad bodies. All Four of them saluted before taking a seat with John, Damien taking the seat opposite of him. "The Fiend's have been blockaded. We were considering an assault, but we don't want to risk more men nor do we want to hurt any captive waste landers we had inside. We were going to filter a poisonous gas, but we came to the conclusion that it would kill the wastelanders and possibly make the vault uninhabitable in a worst case scenario. They have no way of gathering food or water, they should surrender and face execution once they leave the Vault within a few days. Oh, and the Boomers have agreed to join us, despite a leadership struggle they were going through after their Elder had died of a disease. They have been assimilated into Nova Roma, Nellis is yours."
John nodded, "Good. As soon as we can get our manufacturing back up and running, maybe we can build an air force. And once we have a true air force like the nations of old..." John gave Damien a smirk, "Who would be able to resist us?" he sighed and looked at the counter, "But I'm faced with a dilemma Damien, Nero, whichever you'ld prefer now...I have to appease the old ways, or risk civil war, and the last thing I want right now is a civil war. But I must reform, less we have no chance at diplomacy. I would much rather be respected than feared. But...I must put fear into the hearts of those who would seek to dethrone me." John turned to Damien, "While I must stay in the Mojave, at least for the time being until it is thoroughly under our command and walls have been built to block off the three access points, I must rely on you to be my messenger. A Courier of sorts, but not like any normal Courier. I need you, when you march east to take Zion and the Plains, to eliminate all who question my rule. Or at least scare them into killing those questions." John chuckled at that, "I just realized, you have been hunting down Legion for most of your life, but now...you're being asked by their very leader to continue doing so, only more...targeted." John sighed and looked away from Damien, "My time in the Enclave, it taught me a lot, such as Nova Roma, if I can fix its problems, is humanity's best hope from what I know. But I still need to know more. There's more to my easternly offensive than you might think." John looked at Damien once more, "The closer we get to it, the more I'll let you in on. But for now, let's leave it like that." and with that, John got up and left the saloon, yelling to the Umbras just before the door closed and shut him out, "UMBRAS! Begin the decimation! Survivors too weak to work are to be killed, and the rest, enslaved!"
Damien then paused for a second before replying to John. “I’m going to need names of the ones who are conspiring against you alongside their locations. However... if you could gather them in one place, I can take them out in one blow. But that would be problematic, since the possibility of needing a scapegoat would appear, and more questions would be made against your rule. Also, Damien is fine. But to the remainder of the Legion, it’s Nero.”
(Sorry about my absence, plus I delted a post ya'll were questioning me about.) Forge picked the items off of the dead bodies of the gangers. The Brotherhood troops were burried. The crates weren't damaged including the panels, "*Sigh* Well looks like its gonna be a long trip." Forge tied a rope to both levitating panel. It made traveling easier and it made heavy items seem light. He traveled from what seemed like four miles already and was nowhere near close to the Brotherhood base. After reading a mission log from one of the dead ganger leader, there was a reason for the attack. They wanted Forge, the Contractor, the hardline mercenary who had taken down hundreds of gangs, including the most dangerous and smartest ones. Forge pulled the levitating panels which had carried the crates full of weapons. He had hoped that he wouldn't run into major groups anymore, like the Legion.
(Now that you mention it, I think its almost a year since then? I don't know to be honest, its dead as far as I am concerned.)
It's super dead. It's been over a year and Snow has left the site, which makes a continuation impossible. We could start afresh if wanted?)
Nice. We might as well start a new thread with this as well, and introduce any characters we haven't used before. One year is a hell of a time to retcon characters
I'm going to add some extra factions, just to shake things up. I once did a RP within the New Vegas timeline where Equestrians had a large settlement in Northern Vegas. We can do alternate universes as well, which me and Snow used to do all the time.
LoL actual mlp ponies in fallout:NV. Anythings possible in fallout right? XD What kind of alternate universes?
Anything. We could have a NCR or Legion victory over the Dam, the Legion could collapse prior to discovering the Mojave, an Independent Vegas being much more powerful and more. I might have something special however coming in store for the Redux.
Okay then. I'm sure anyone can raise any issues they want regarding the premise in the interest check
