Pokémon Thread !

I enjoy the general games. I think my least favorite generation is Black/White, I hate how the secret bases were online and then the just disappeared when X/Y came about.

My favorite Pokemon are Charizard, Meowth, and Umbreon.

What do I like about Pokemon? It's an RPG and I just enjoy RPG's. I can't really say if there is anything more to it than than really.

I'd like the follow Pokemon not to count a party Pokemon. Not all favorite Pokemon are useful in battle.

But anyway, favorite generation is Gen 3, (I grew up on it!) Naturally, I freaked out when I saw the trailer for ORAS. My favorite Pokemon are Sceptile, Rayquaza, Scrafty, Skarmory and Cresselia. Rayquaza being my top favorite of course. My friend even knit me a sweater with a Ray on it. I still have it!

Sometimes I compete in the competitions, and I usually lose in the last few rounds of Regionals, but I have made it to early Nationals twice.

I really liked the character customization in X/Y, but I don't think we'll be seeing it again, as Mr. Satoshi Tajiri said Kalos' character customization was due to its connection to France.

I like it too. The games are pretty fun and addicting. I just hope they continue the way the Exp. Share is done. Grinding is a pain. For me at least. Having to grinding for hours/WEEKS on end DOES NOT make a game fun.

But I still like it and will continue to play it as long as I possibly can.

I'm looking forward to Pokemon Z or whatever the third game for X/Y will be.

 

Well Nintendo upping the difficulty of the recent pokemon games to their older style difficulty is rather impossible since they are trying to appeal to the new gen crowd. Take for insance that after 4 or 5 badges, you can instantly obtain Max Potions for your pokemon in Pokemarts. This never use to be a thing in older gens of pokemon. You use to not get Max Potions at Pokemarts what so ever with the exclusion of the Pokemon League Mart. Even the covenanted Rare Candy had a limit. In the Johto series games (My fave gen BTW) had only 3 rare candies scattered through out the game if you looked hard. Now-a-days if you want these items, you can get them fairly easy. It's so funny it's almost pathetic. I personally depend on Poke Centers over items 90% of the time. That's because my experience has got me prepared to deal with scarce items and not as often item usage. I know it's a pointless gripe but what can I say, my inner 90s kid shows itself with topics like these.

 

I'm sorry I hope it goes back to the way it was. It takes too long for me to level up pokemon the new way.

 

Black 2 and White 2 actually had difficult settings. And who said Pokemon is kids game? Myself along with countless other fantastical hatch eggs for weeks on end so we can get the right Nature and IVs for our team, and most kids don't have that kind of devotion.

 

I love the Pokemon games, and the original TV series. What pisses me off though is that we have some of the newer Pokemon games (Alpha Sapphire, Omega Ruby, X, Y, White, Black, etc.) and my brothers loose them around the house and don't even bother to look for them! I want to play X and Y, and hell, I've even looked for them myself, I swear it, if only my bothers actually cared about some of the stuff they have, although I can't blame my eight year old brother, then there is my fourteen year old.

 

Oh damn, I feel bad for you. I'd kick my cousin in the ass if he did that. Back in the day of Gold, Silver, and Crystal beating Red was a feat to be proud of. It still is. I've done it two times in my life. In the old Crystal game and in the Remake for the Johto series which is slightly harder with the Hail.

 

Please don't take offense by this question... but... are you using it right? You have to actually turn it on in the Key Items pocket. Of course it should automatically be on.... but still...

The main complaint I've seen about the new Exp. Share is that it makes the game too easy and makes pokemon over leveled. This is the first time I've seen a complaint saying that it makes it harder/takes longer to level pokemon up...

 

You turn it on it shares exp with all pokemon, each pokemon get's less so why your trying to catch up one pokemon to the group it takes longer because they keep growing as the pokemon your trying to catch up keeps growing.

 

Actually, that's incorrect. Starting with X/Y all Pokemon get 100% of the XP granted by the pokemon defeated.
