^ THIS. ALL OF THIS. Although...I did have to fix that one part, which I decided to boldface for your convenience... :Trollestia: I agree with every point made in this post. Just wanted to say that. *tips hat* Haha, wouldn't mind TwiMac. And I was just as surprised by Celestia actually flying, although she did so back in Feeling Pinkie Keen (after crashing down on the balcony and taking the letter...remember?). Still, a rare sight... I'm pretty sure it was a standard Pinkie Pie teleport. Either that, or maybe...that Pinkie who laughed was a hallucination...? It was Meghan McCarthy, who also wrote "Dragonshy", "Call of the Cutie", "Green Isn't Your Color", and "Party of One"! All, in my opinion, good reasons to love that writer. ^_^ (EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_My_Little_Pony:_Friendship_Is_Magic_episodes) Ahem, that's not how memes work, silly. XD I mean, you can TRY and force a meme, but it'll only work if the internet deems it worthy enough, and usually if it's forced, it ain't going to happen. Seriously, they just have to do exactly what they've been doing and we'll still get tons of memes. No "throwing in" needed.
I know that feel all too well. While I did still like the episode, the extreme craziness of it all just didn't make it feel like the same show I fell in love with back in March. I'm going to have to go with Twilight on this one. Her breakdown, I'm afraid, put Pinkie Pies and Fluttershy's to shame. I agree with those people. I hope they don't always have episodes where the characters just lose it the way Twilight did. Because, I prefer to see these ponies acting sweet, caring and loving. Not loony and psychotic for half the episode (in Twilights' case). Seriousy, that scene with the CMC was just... a bit too disturbing to me. These ponies are supposed to make me smile and feel good, not scared for my life. A few times during this episode I just wanted to go through my screen and just hug Twilight forever until she calmed down! No joke! I'm going to stop that right there before I go in to a rant like I did on Ponychan. Exactly! Were the writers trying to legitimitely scare their target demographic? I seriously hope no young girls got scared from this episode, and if any actually did, I don't blame them. And I thought PoI would freak them out. I'm sorry if I brought the thread down with my negative points. I really hope episode 4 is more toned down.
I agree. The kinda went over the top with her going nuts. The Big Mackintosh thing with the doll made it a little better but not that much. Over all the episode had its good and bad parts.
I'm so relieved that I'm not the only one feeling that way. What was Twilight even trying to do? What was she going to write to the princess? "Dear Princess Celestia. Today I've learned that sometimes, to solve a friend's problem, you first have to make them have one (and scare some fillies while doing so for good measure)." - Riiiight. Way to go showing Celestia that she made progress with understanding the meaning of friendship. Hug her? I wouldn't even want to be in the same room with her during those times. She made Psycho Pinkie look sane. Hope so, too.
its just one episode guys. Scary? Well yeah, but it was funny to see her act like that. Its not like we'll see twilight act this insane again.
Well, it is important to note that this episode was written by the same writer who wrote Party for One, so I guess she just likes watching the characters lose it. I really don't have a problem with it, it's fun watching the normally sweet, kind ponies get out of their comfort zone (or in Twilight's case, just go all Hannibal Lector on everyone). As long as it's in moderation, I think it's hilarious, especially with the face animation. Like many people said, though, if they do it TOO much, it can start seeming old and forced. I think they did a nice job with it in this one, however. They kept the cause true to the character, and it had a nice, original plotline to act as the axis for the insanity. Judging from the description, I doubt we'll see something like this in episode four. It will probably have a more slowly paced plot. Also, I don't see what's so bad about the CMC scene. It was much more of a funny insanity than a creepy insanity.
I just saw the episode, and I loved it. It was already kinda funny seeing Fluttershy fight that bear, but I lost it when she snapped it's neck. Also, creepy Twilight is creepy. Oh God, l can sense all the creppypastas and fanfics being created from that scene... And how could I forget the atomic rainboom? Awesomeness! I agree that they shouldn't do this too often. It wouldn't have the same impact.
Anyone Notice that the Colors of Fluttershy and Applebloom have changed? Their more of a Dark tone of Yellow. Don't know why but it reason why it was made that way i'll never know.

no!!, haha I didnt realize that!!, haha wow is great. and the episode in fact too!!!. I think I cant said something that the other dont already said it XD, So I just gonna said, that the episode was Great!!
I'll bet the scene where Twilight tells Dash that she doesn't have to hide her feelings from her had some Twi x Dash fan-fic writers squealing. Without repeating what's been said, I think it's a really good episode, and probably one of my favorites thanks to all of the little things that made me laugh. It made my day, and it makes me feel good about the rest of season 2.
At episode's end, Twilight still don't know FlutterShy din't killed the bear, she was more amazed of how she defend herself that the fact she actually KILLED (at leas for Twi's point of view) This could mean killing in equestria isn't that much of a taboo? This can explain the pigs in farms are just edible stuff?
I really wish I could magically pull up a couch to collapse on every time THE WORST POSSIBLE THING! happened to me.
Give them two weeks tops. And prepare for insane prices on eBay. C'mon, the whole episode was high-octane shipping fuel. Good thing that most bronies don't know that much more than half a dozen background ponies by name, otherwise SeaMac would be the OTP du jour. Bon Bon has her third voice already, by the way, one I don't like. Dizzy Twister got added to the list of background ponies with dialogue lines. If you look at the Big Ball of Violence in the background around 17:26 or so, you'll notice that it's Lyra and Bon Bon fighting. Not quite correct even because Lyra actually got beaten up by Apple Bloom and Dizzy Twister and Bon Bon ended up Big Mac's victim. Then again, they were lying next to each other in that scene. Also, remarkably many earth ponies lost fights against unicorns who are claimed to be physically weaker. It's 3:1 for the unicorns actually. Not even The Drunken Master Berry Punch could do much against Lemon Hearts. And here, to distract you from all the Psycho Twilight, have some Berry Pinch (finally in the foreground), Piña Colada (Ponyville's youngest railfan) and Noi. All cured of the Cutie Pox they had at Diamond Tiara's Cute-ceañera.
