Hello Everypony, I've seen a lack of Pony servers on the game called Garrys mod,So i'm thinking about creating one.So i'm looking for someone who has experience in creating servers, My main idea i want the server to be is a Pony Only youtube theater,If you have played garrys mod and been on the Only GmodTheater server you may know there is tons Of trolls on there,So That is why i think we deserve our own theater were we could watch ponies in peace,So that's about it if your willing to help post on this topic or add me on skype at noah.smith682.Thanks for you time.
One thing you must consider though. You're going to need a machine to run the server on. Any if you know anything about Garry's Mod and networking, you should be able to imagine how taxing this is. If you want to be able to play on and host a server for at least 8 other people, you need a machine like mine. My hand built DIY PC runs on a 2 Horse Power (I'm so brony I measure thing in horse power, not watts) (1.5 Kilowatt) Power Supply Unit. To consistently run a server, you need consistent up time. Consistent Up-time + 2 HP PSU = OH GOD MY ELECTRICAL BILL! I hope you know what you're getting yourself into. Because my desktop is on around 4 hours everyday. My electrical bill is $350 a month. Enjoy. (I'm not trying to scare you off! I'm just putting it out there that if you want a decent amount of players on the server simultaneously without Oh-god-the-lag-it-burns-my-retinas related issues, this is something you'll have to look into.) (Unless you want to set up a dedicated server machine.) (That'll be even more expensive.) Infinitely Relevant. Please at least try to post constructively. Or at least destructively. Not aimlessly. That's bad.
All I can say is just make sure the host PC/Server has good enough internet down/up speed and that it isn't running a 1 core, 1GHz CPU with 512MB of RAM.
