    Definitely LoZ.

Is Metroid still considered an ongoing series? There hasn't been a Metroid game in a few years, but Samus is a Smash Bros mainstay.

Well, the first game (Arena) was released in 1994... so yeah, you are as old as the game series xD

I will have to reluctantly give it to Final Fantasy, even though FF 13 and 13-2 were imo, complete disasters. Zelda is probably the best answer, but I haven't played any of the newer Zelda games except the DS games...

Excuses me Princess! It's Zelda of course! With the compelling story line and amazing dungeons who would disagree? Zelda is one of the 80's games that remained the same, making some changes but staying true to the original game!

I would say Mario for my second answer but really there hasn't been a good proper Mario game since super Mario Bros for the Wii and ds. The spin off games like Mario kart, Mario party and such don't count!
