Though, I might point out that I don't usually join something unless I'm absolutely sure I'd be allowed there. Hey there glad that you decided to join us, I am somewhat new-ish myself and from experience I can tell you are very welcomed here and I don't see why you would not be allowed to post to partake in any thread or discussion. I can say with certainty that you are allowed to post on my threads or post, I like all perspectives so no matter what your view is you are welcome. I can't say much for others but I assume that they too will allow you to partake, there is no discrimination here.

Hello, and welcome to Everypony. I wouldn't recommend just jumping into an RP. If you find one that you'd like to join, go to the character sheet thread for that RP, post your character, and wait for approval. Just make sure to look for an active RP. If there haven't been any posts in a few weeks, the RP is probably dead.
Thank you for the welcome, and you have just answered the biggest question I was going to ask, so that is dealt with, thanks and I wasn't going to jump straight in, I've just been looking around at the moment, but thank you for the tip. Because people are judgmental, that's mostly likely why, but that's the past and thank you for your offer.
Yeah character sheet was what I meant by sign up topic. ^^; Although I still called mine a sign up it's in the character sheet section.
