Remember last time, when I said, "this isn't a Ninja Turtles thread"? ...well, this one is. Which do you think is the best version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and why?
I'd say the 2003 incarnation, considering that one was trying to sell me toys, much like the original 80's cartoon. It did a much better job of keeping me entertained, however.
This is a really difficult one. The 1987 version was the show that made me love the franchise to begin with. It was the most humorous, but still managed to have a few good dramatic moments. The 2003 version focused more on dramatic storytelling, losing much of the comedy of the original. It was truer to the original comic version of TMNT, but came as a shock to fans of the '87 show. The 2012 version strikes an excellent balance between humor and drama, but drastically changes several important characters. I'm gonna have to say the 2012 version is my favorite. The Karai storyline, in particular, not only humanizes the Shredder, but also creates a real conflict that can't be easily resolved.
Not that the 2003 three series didn't have a toy line, but it really seemed like they didn't focus on selling toys and instead focused on telling a story.
What if I were to say that the Micheal Bay Transformers movies were better than the cartoons? Would you still feel the same way about people being entitled to their opinions?
Yes, and I have in the past. There are plenty of people who enjoyed seeing Bumble Bee pee on someone. I find it sad, okay very sad, but I tend not to say it to them.
Yeah, well, I guess you're a nicer person than I am. Or maybe just more of a pushover. Who's to say? I stand by my previous statement, however. The 2014 TMNT movie was bad, and anyone who liked it should feel bad.
It was an okay movie in my opinion, better than the Bay Transformers, but it really wasn't a TMNT movie. It's like they pasted the Turtles into a script for Punisher or something. I also hate the designs for the Turtles, yes Donny is supposed to be a nerd, but they made him look like an overgrown Erkel. I probably wouldn't have even watched the movie if not for the coupon I got from picking up "The Good the bad and Casey Jones". Respecting the opinions of others is not being a pushover. Pressing my opinion on someone else is being a bully, and letting someone press their opinion on me is being a pushover. My opinion hasn't change based on anything anyone else has said.
I've always hated the word bully. It's a word used by the weak and cowardly as an excuse not to fight back.
Well perhaps they were a troll? If he is or not we should still respect their opinion (even if I personally detest the movie.) I believe that I am half and half on this issue. On one hand I agree that many who are bullied are silent and don't speak and shows meekness however I also think that if you fight back it might worsen, If you fight back but there is a group or say if you even tell someone and they get in trouble or get rightfully punished there is a likely chance that they would try to seek revenge and get more aggressive. This is from experience.
Telling someone that you're being bullied is not the same thing as standing up for yourself. It's just expecting someone else to solve your problems for you. Also, I refuse to respect the opinion of anyone who thought the Baybomination was the best TMNT incarnation. They are a dumb person who is made out of wrongness and stupidity and also they smell.
Why is it wrong to get help? Is it so degrading to ask for help? Swallow your pride, it is not poison. Asking for help needs some inner strength, many are scared stiff and can't ask for help, many end their life because of this fact, feeling helpless. Now telling someone your being bullied is good in some situations say in school, the work place and so on where the people in power ( Principal and the CPO of your company) could act and end it swiftly. However if it is the people in power that are bulling you then you do have a problem. I agree that you should fight back but when it is your boss bulling you and threatening to cut your wages or even fire you then that is a different matter. You may ask "Can't they get another job?" Yes, they could but let's say it's a really good job that pays well and has good health benefits, you would find it hard to decide. You could go to the police or to the workers union but your logic says that it's weak to ask for help and is bad to have people fight for you and so your stuck in an never-ending cycle. Anyway I think the 2012 version of TMNT is pretty good, usually watch it with my younger brother when ever it is on.
