So, here's the trailer for "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens": So, here are my thoughts: -first of all, I remember back when I was posted the Princess Celestia VS Princess Leia fight I did for "Science VS Magic", Ridley Wolf asked, "since when is Leia a Jedi?". Well, this trailer indeed confirms that Leia is a Jedi. -this trailer also confirms that Rey is a Jedi, which is awesome! I'm a feminist, so I tend to gravitate towards female protagonists, so I always wanted to see a female Jedi as a main character. -the effects looks great. Unlike Lucas, Abrams knows to use CGI sparingly. You can telol most of the effects in this movie are practical effects, and that the CGI only serves to enhance that. -When Han says that he and Chewbacca are "home"...does that mean we are finakly gonna see Corellia in a movie? -I'm stil unsure about which side Luke will be on. Is he gonna train Rey, or try to temp Rey into the Dark side? So, what about you? What are your thoughts?
I'm not sure this confirms that Leia is a Jedi; being strong with the force doesn't automatically make you a Jedi, and, unless I'm mistaken, that speech is the one Luke uses in Episode VI to tell Leia that they're related, so that's the only reason he mentions how force-strong she is at all.
I don't know much about the EU past Episode 6, I know more about the Galactic Cold War and the Jedi Civil War, but I believe that Leia was a force-sensitive.
I am so hyped for this movie. All the cool Imperial stuff and the neo-Stormtroopers so far is awesome. I kinda hope the Rebels lose this time around, 'cause Empire's the best faction.
Correct. She had her own lightsaber and was a nearly full-fledged Jedi in the old EU. I think people are mostly inferring Leia will be a Jedi because Luke mentions her in the trailer as he hands a lightsaber to someone. It's just the juxtaposition that's making people wonder. I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how much better the Mandalorians are than either of those two. xD
