So, now that I've just seen "Avengers: Age of ultron", I got a new one for you: which is the best Marvel superhero created by Stan Lee and why?
Stan Lee did create the X-Men, but he didn't create Wolverine. Wolverine was created by Roy Thomas, Len Wein, John Romita and Herb Trimpe. I knew you'd said that. Look, I'm not talking about Thor the mythological figure, I'm talking about Thor the comic book character. The Marvel Comics version of Thor was created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Larry Lieber
The marvel version is just a simpler version then the original. Claiming that they created him would be like claiming that I created Rainbow Dash because I once wrote a fanfic about her.
Popular heroes created by Stan Lee: Agent Venom Ant-Man Beast Black Panther Black Widow Cyclops Daredevil Falcon Nick Fury Jean Grey Groot Hawkeye Hercules The Hulk The Human Torch Iceman Invisible Woman Iron Man Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell) Mister Fantastic Quicksilver Scarlet Witch She-Hulk Silver Surfer Spider-Man Doctor Strange Stripperella Thing Thor Tigra Vision Wasp Professor X The man has had a long and prolific career, hasn't he?
Yeah, OK, listen to me: Percy Jackson is clearly based on the mythical Perseus. But when I say "Percy Jackson was created by Rick Riordan", everyone knows what I mean. And, if I may bring my own religion into the mix, I believe Jesus is the son of God, and Aslan is clearly meant to be Jesus, but I still say "Aslan was created by C.S. Lewis".
Yeah, because unlike Stan Lee Rick Riodran didn't use copy and paste. Sorry to break it to you but Aslan isn't meant to be Jesus. They have almost nothing in common with each other. One sacrificed himself for our sins while the other one made children do all the work.
The Thor comics have been around since 1962. That's over fifty years of lore. Hundreds of characters. Thousands of stories. While Stan Lee's claim to the character is up for debate, the work that he and Marvel put into the comic isn't. Dismissing the entire franchise as a "copy and paste" of the old myths is insulting to both the creators and fans of the comics.
Yeah, what Ridley said. I thought everyone would understand what I meant when I put Thor on the poll.
You've said yourself that it's barely even the same character. - - Auto Merge - - How? It's not out until March 1st.
It was in the Chat not long after you joined the site. We were discussing your username, and how ridiculous it was that Heimdall was black in the Thor movies, despite being described as "the whitest of the gods." You seemed rather disgusted with the franchise, and said something along the lines of how the characters from the comics and the characters from the stories were barely even the same characters. Ringing any bells? - - Auto Merge - - What the actual Hell. The movie was made in America, by Americans. WHY THE HELL DOES ARGENTINA GET IT BEFORE US?!
