    @Blu-cup: I create single pics gifs and then animate them into one animated gif. Using Unfreez 2.1 (Steelion linked it)

    You would need GIMP GAP, the animation package for GIMP, if you want to go the GIMP route.
    unFREEZ lets you simple drag and drop the frames then choose a frame time, then you hit the 'make animated GIF' button. It's that easy.

    I never had to download a GAP pack for GIMP in order to make gifs...

    But if I did and totally forgot about it, then I can at least assure you that it's free.

    Plus with GIMP you can move the images a bit to fix any problems with the GIF, and edit the pics.
