noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo D: you just ruind my life D; AHhhhh *jumps out the window*
Aw jeez, people are already accusing Pinkie of being out of character from that episode four clip...even though it's less than a minute of an episode and they have no idea what the context is... >_> Spoiler: Why are they calling her OOC? Well apparently she's acting cowardly in the clip? I don't get this at all. We've only seen less than a minute of the episode. For all we know she has a perfectly good reason to be panicked (or, at least, a perfectly good reason using Pinkie Pie logic). I think it's perfectly in-character for her. We've seen her scared before. Just look at "Feeling Pinkie Keen", where her usual reaction to her twitchy-tail (as well as other Pinkie Sense reactions that involve something dangerous) was to hide in fear or run away!
You know there is one thing of note for the clips we have seen: Spoiler: hmm Why in the heck IS Luna acting all sinister now if her goal is to improve her image, why the bat winged Biggs and Wedge (Biggs and Wedge are the fan nick names of the royal guard pegasi for those who dont know) why all the lightning?
you guys don't check up EqD nor DerpyHooves.com nor facebook? Spoiler: new spoiler yo dwang, I heard you like dragons
Spoiler: Because Nightmare Night. She's just playing into the holiday, that's all. Or, that's what I got from that less-than-a-minute clip. I suppose we'll find out for sure in the actual episode~
as soon as i see the episode starting, Im gonna be all: ohmagoshohmagoshohmagoshohmagoshohmagoshohmagoshohmagosh!!!!!!
Watching the episode now... EDIT: Ok, now that I've seen it, here are my thoughts. This was definitely not one of my favorites: -Pinkie was just annoying in this episode....I think it was the chicken costume -Derpy being Derpy...I love how they're slipping her in. -Viking Raindrops! Raindrops was everywhere in this episode! ^_^ - Pipsqueak was adorable and the return of Zecora was awesome! - Fluttershy was still as adorable as ever, even when she slammed into the door. Now for the big topic....Luna. I didn't like how they portrayed her. I'm not going by the Gabon, but they didn't really....I dunno, stick to how she was in Episode 2. Yes, she hardly said anything, but she did come across as timid, not a booming, Double-voiced reference to Galadriel. When she toned her voice down, I did get shades of her old voice, but overall it just seemed off. I understand her personality and mannerisms, seeing as she was coming from a different time, but...yeah, I'm going back to the voice, it just didn't seem right for me personally. Also, I like her old hair style a bit more. Heh, apparently Rarity (along with Fluttershy) doesn't celebrate Nightmare Night. Overall, it was an okay episode...
Just watched the new episode. Was a little disappointed tbh. Only best part to me was - Spoiler: SPOILERS. WE MUST SPEAK WITH VOLUME HOW MANY POINTS IS THAT WORTH Her loud voice and very very very old-fashioned way of speaking was great. Her actual voice was terrible. I reckon a bunch-o memes sprouted up again.
Noticed three new things the second time around: - Ace came back (tennis pony with epic mustache) - One of the ponies is dressed as Scorpion from Mortal Kombat, hahaha - PLOT HOLE: If all the ponies except Twilight forgot about the legend of Nightmare Moon, why did they have an annual offering of candy to a statue of her??
So 1000 years ago, they used the royal "We," which displays majesty and power. They spoke in an incredibly loud tone... Does this make Overlord Celestia canonical?
I for one liked the episode. I didnt know how to expect Luna, but I like what they did. She atleast tried to get into the spirit of her holiday. Seeing all the background ponies costumes was pretty good. Zacoras costume was my favorite. The CMCs costumes were all classic horror icons, is awesome. Who can say no to vampire Sweetie Belle?
Luna was definitely different from what I expected, but it was still a pretty good episode. I didn't like the lack of Rarity though. It seemed like it was moving too slow until 3/4 in, then they were going too fast. Pinkie Pie was annoying me the whole time, and even though she's my favorite character, I'm glad Rainbow Dash got owned at the end. I like the old Luna more.
You gotta remember, guys, that while she may have been timid when we saw her the first time outside of Nightmare Moon's shell, she had just been freed from a nightmare, and was clearly worried that her big sister would hate her for everything that had happened. You also have to remember that she's been out of commission for a thousand years and STILL needed some time off (probably Celestia's orders, too), so her newfound BOOMING VOICE and ASSERTIVENESS were fitting. She was trying to... You know, assert herself and take her role as a Princess again. You know how kids sometimes act WAY TOO SRS when they're actually trying to be responsible about something? Yeah? It's something like that. And notice how quickly she runs away when she's shot down. The confusion between her need to take a role in Equestria's government, her being out-of-touch with the way modern ponies act, and her desire to quash what she perceived as ponies still being terrified of her all added up to a mess. If her characterization seems off, it's because it was... Well, realistic, to be honest, at least for someone in her position. @Zephyr: As for Nightmare Night, I don't think that everypony had FORGOTTEN about Nightmare Moon so much as written it off as an old mare's tale. I could be wrong, though.
