Heya, everypony. I'm a recent fan of MLP, having just gotten into the show in February 2015. I'm caught up on all the episodes and the Equestria Girls films as of this moment, but I don't know a whole lot about the fandom itself... I'm familiar enough with some things here and there, but I haven't discovered everything. This is the first MLP site I've joined, though I'm thinking of joining some others as well later. My favorite pony is Rainbow Dash. I live in Tennessee and I'm going to college (studying lit). I can be blunt, and it can take time for me to warm up to new friends (I've always been a bit shy and cautious of new people, and I've had my trust broken pretty badly a few times) but it doesn't mean I don't like you or anything. I'm just... slow. It doesn't help that I'm generally socially awkward. I do try to be friendly, though, and I don't like upsetting people. Also, I'm interested in RPing, but I can be very particular, so it might take me a while to get into it. Well, I think that's a good intro... so I'll wrap it up for now. I hope to make friends with some of y'all and see ya 'round.

I'm super shy around strangers I meet in person but I can try to make a first impression. A lot of ponies are nice here, so I'm sure you'll get along with most everyone. Ridley is right to warn you though, there are some odd and weird parts of the fandom to keep away from. Not to worry though, this is a clean community so there shouldn't be too much of that here.
Thank you! :3 Thanks! Yeah, I have a hard time talking to people, and I'm a bit troubled with anxiety (I get it from my mom). I have been improving in recent years, talking to people more and such, and forums have helped, among other things. So far most people here do seem to be nice, so I'm liking that aspect of this community already! I will be sure to take the warning the two of you have given me to heart, and be wary. Thanks. Yep, I get that a lot. I'm a thinker, and it's kind of what I'm studying to think about things and analyze them. That's what literature is all about! I don't always have the right idea, but you can bet I'll have put a lot of thought into something before taking a stance or making a comment about it.
Huh, sounds like a healthy practice. I did see that you're a Literature major; my university doesn't have a Literature major, but I'm an English major, so I guess we're in the same general field.
Socially awkward but still try to be friendly... I can relate to that! I'll be the first to tell you that the people on this forum really are, for the most part, some of the friendliest of any forum I've ever been on. And I've seen some real doozies out there!
I'm technically an English major myself, but we get to specialize, and I'm in a literature focus. A lot of English majors go for teacher's licensure, but that's not really my thing. Thanks! I'm noticing it's a much friendlier place than other forums I've been on, it's really refreshing!
I wish we had more specializations; we can be Publishing, English Education, or just English. The other two weren't quite my thing either, so I stuck with English.

This is the only forum of this type that I frequent, so I don't have a personal frame of reference, but people do seem to say this is one of the friendlier ones; kinda puts me off joining any of the others! LOL well, Rainbow is my favorite, but Applejack is probably my second favorite. See this: I can relate to AJ quite a bit, being country and being very close with my family. Personality-wise I do have more in common with Rainbow Dash (which is no doubt why she's my fav), but the family connection AJ has was real important to me when I put that signature together a few weeks ago. I had just experienced a really difficult break up, and I don't really have a whole lot of friends, but I do have my family, and no matter what, they're always there for me. So I found that song rather fitting, and there ya go.
