Originally Fluttershy was my favourite character because she reminded me of me when I was younger, I was always very shy and never raised my voice. Plus she's adorable! But now I really like Rarity, she gets a lot of funny lines and I loved her in the episode with the Diamond Dogs. I also like Twilight Sparkle more than I used too.
Out of the main characters it is Rarity (For mostly the same reasons as the post above). How come Spike isn't on the list?
Probably because he isn't a pony. My own favorite, Rainbow Dash Followed by Luna and Pinkie Pie tied as number two . With Fluttershy as the third (for bear/dragon/cockatrice reasons.) Don't get me wrong, I love Rarity, Twilight Sparkle and Applejack, (as well as Spike, Trixie, Gilda, Celestia and every other character of the show) these are just the very top of the iceberg of awesomeness.
Mmh, personally i just can't vote for a pony being in the mane 6 they all please me (i haven't vote already). But I tend for Pinkie pie, she is so ... random ! Seriously who can appear in a mirror without being in the room ? without use magic ? No pony knows My favorite pony outside of the mane 6 is nightmare moon. Such a powerful and beautiful mare (pity she's the bad character)
Twilight Sparkle needs love, too! After all, if it were not for her starting off the whole thing, there would be no day! Nightmare Moon would have won. Besides, who doesn't dig a mare with a top-notch brain and a take charge attitude?
I chose Pinkie Pie because I relate to her...at times I am the male/non-pony embodiment of Pinkie love you Pinkie Pie

I'd say Twilight Sparkle, simply because I can relate to her more, but it's a tough choice to be fair. Though my order would be: 1 - Twilight Sparkle / Derpy Hooves (I love to read, and Lesson Zero? Yeah, that's me on assignment deadlines and Derpy's lines have become mine whenever I buck up *shrug* I just don't know what went wrong... ) 2 - Fluttershy / Rainbow Dash / Pinkie Pie (FS in Dragonshy, Sonic Rainboom, The Best Day Ever and the 'stare' are just the best, and I see RD in a whole new light after My Little Dashie. Oh, and PP's lack of respect for physics is outstanding to say the least) 3 - AppleJack / CMC / Rarity (I love AppleJack's accent and country personality, the CMC are hilarious ) Honourable Mentions to Spike for his sense of humour, and Big Macintosh, who let's his hooves do the talking

I don't know man, it's not really that obvious as to who is your favourite pony Also, Applejack FTW. Fluttershy's cute an' all, but Applejack is just like me and she (in my book) is just as awesome as Rainbow Dash.
It's so hard to choose only one, beacuse I love them all. But I vote for Pinkie Pie, I would like to have friend like she.
i voted pinkie pie , for her complete randomness , and out of nowhere songs she is just a pony that can make you smile anywhere , anytime on a close second is applejack , for her complete honesty and while being strong and cool also kind. she is the kinda mare you look up to and say "wauw" those are my top 2 , but frankly i love the whole bunch with fluttershy , rainbow dash, rarity, twilight sparkle included
I like Rarity, because I feel like she's relatable to me more than any other.... but if I had to choose a second I'd choose Rainbowdash
