Since these conclusions are logical and intuitive to most, I'm gonna go ahead and say that the problem isn't with the writing, but rather with a few people who just don't understand the show anymore. It's understandable that some folks are getting left behind. The writing isn't as simplistic as it used to be, and the overall focus of the show has changed as the characters have had to face new issues. Overall, I'd say everything has become less episodic and a lot more story-driven. It's not the same show it was back when it started, because the characters have been allowed to grow and develop, which is rare for a cartoon.
I think that anyone who doesn't agree with me about how incredible this children's cartoon is is just too dumb to understand its complex nuances, even though I'm simultaneously claiming it's blatant and intuitive.
I think that if certain people don't like the damn show anymore they should just quit whining and move on to something else, instead of trying to ruin it for the people who still enjoy it. Steven Universe is a fun show. Why not give that a try?
That's not necessarily true. There ARE people out there who genuinely don't like it whether they "get it" or not. For example, from what little I do know, Doctor Who seems like a generally good show. I get why people like it but I am not a fan because it does not interest me.
