Hope is futile without the will to enact it. Hope without willpower is faith. Faith is a source of will, albeit one that must be tapped. These people have faith in the correctness of the stereotype, but do not have the will to confirm if it is so. This is the problem, not ignorance of conformity. Those are but effects of the greater problem.
One of your first threads on everypony was a thread about making a power rings fanfic. I don't know if that idea is still alive, but I remember it. 50% of speaking well is listening to those who listen. The other 50% is knowing how to hear what you are listening to, and what to say in response.
What I don't understand is, if the parents' beliefs or opinions are so incorrigible, why did they not give him a chance to help them understand it before laying down such a prejudiced judgement.
That's unbelievable!! I've heard stories before of parents kicking there children out due to there sexual preference (gay / lesbian etc) BUT for liking a cartoon & falling into a terminology for what people have named for a fan base for fans of the show! - that's crazy! That's like kicking someone out because they are labelled a Gamer & they think it promotes violence. Some parents REALLY need to get with the times of this century's styles / statements & fashion.
that's really silly - and very unfortunate. i believe that all these misconceived notions have driven alot of folks into misjudging personalities. This mainly comes from persons who base each other's lifestyles off of mere terms. but that's the world for you i suppose.
