I mean, really? This is My Little Pony, for Christ's sake. Of COURSE there's musical episodes every now and then. Spoiler: My thoughts This was actually a great episode. I liked the CMC's Cutie Marks in particular. They really represent the characters. My only problem is Diamond Tiara's redemption. Sorry, but you can't spend 4 seasons being an ass and suddenly turn around and be good. I would have preferred her redemption be drawn out across multiple episodes, like Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z. This is the same problem I have with Sunset Shimmer's redemption, btw.
It kinda seemed to me like DT had been wanting to make the change for a good while though. She put up as tough and mean of a facade as she could for as long as she could and I get more of a straw that broke the camel's back kind of sense from it. Also, not really seeing any middle ground for this one. People either seem to love it or they hate it! It's pretty interesting!
Took them three whole seasons to start, and they've all been awful. Sorry, you're full of crap. On a totally unrelated note, did anyone notice that this episode featured the first ever actual diamond in the show's running? Even with a character named after them, and a race of creatures, and Rarity constantly having buckets of gemstones, this is the first time we've seen a real diamond onscreen!
Agreed. DT seemed to change emotions from time to time. Which is a good thing, really. At least now she won't annoy them anymore for getting their cutie marks and helping her out. I wonder if DT and SS are still going to be friends......eh, I'm pretty sure they will be.
Does that post need Sarcasm tags? The episode was okay. I didn't hate it, but I sure as heck didn't love it. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
Actually, I was a little drunk when I posted that. I do agree with Drunk Me, though. This was an amazing episode. I don't get why anybody disliked it.
Now that DT is a good pony now, what will happen to Silver Spoon? I had a huge dislike for bully type ponies, but seeing how DT has Changed, I'm starting to think I might like her more.
That's a good point, the episode didn't even remotely touch on why Silver is a bully. Should we expect her to just turn her ways around immediately because Diamond did? This very episode proved that Silver wasn't just following whatever Diamond wanted, which strongly implies that she wasn't a bully just because Diamond pushed her into it.
This episode only proved that Silver Spoon doesn't like being on the receiving end of Diamond Tiara's bullying. Not particularly surprising, if I might add.
It's really not all that dissimilar to the Biskit twins from LPS. Whittany doesn't really hate Blythe as much as Brittany but she goes along with it just because she's her sister. Also, DT even said her talent was persuasion so there may have been some of that going on behind the scenes. Just because some things haven't been addressed in the show doesn't mean they haven't been going on. It's just like the story with Moondancer.
The mane 6 are the spirits of the elements of harmony, they're heroes, they save the world, they're super important. In contrast, the CMC have never been anything more than regular kids. They're not supposed to be any more special than any other kid, that's the point. And yet with these ultimate unique cutie marks and a completely unprecedented calling, it seems like they've grown beyond "ordinary" and will now be "heroes" in their own right. But unlike the situation with the elements (and unfortunately like what happened in Magical Mystery Cure) they didn't really DO anything to earn such a distinction. What did they do that no one else could have done? Just like Twilight's ascension was triggered by a stupidly easy test, the CMC got these super marks by making simple observations and just kinda not being jerks. Heck, the whole meaning behind earning a cutie mark is that you accomplish something in a way only you could have, but that's not even remotely true for the CMC.
Seriously just stop watching the damn show. You obviously don't like it anymore, and I'm getting a little tired of you showing up to piss on things that I enjoy. I'm not telling you to leave the site, I'm just saying that maybe you should focus on the parts of the site that don't directly relate to the show.
I don't see what's wrong with a voice of opposition. The whole nobody else can do seems like an exaggeration anyway. I mean there are obviously multiple fashion ponies, teaching ponies, even party ponies. I think it would have meant more if they reversed this one and the Trouble shoes one and got their cutie mark after helping him.
